                    Leave well enough alone.

Merve Keleş (22), a nurse at Çukurova University's Balcalı
Training and Research Hospital in Adana met 'aesthetic expert'
Soner G. through a friend.  Keleş wanted to get fuller lips so she
gave Soner G. 500 TL (about $150) for a temporary full-lips
treatment.  The effect lapsed in a week so Keleş and Soner G.
agreed on a 'silicon treatment' for 1,000 TL.

Soner G., a hairdresser who said she got her aesthetic training
in Azerbaijan, explained that her 'clinic' was under repair so she
gave Keleş the silicon treatment in her home 3 weeks ago.  Half
an hour after the 'operation', Keleş's lips began to swell.  She
called Soner G. the next day, saying that her lips hurt unbearably.
In response, Soner G. said "you caught an infection. That's beyond
my ken. Go to the hospital."

Keleş went to a hospital and was given an antibiotic but the
swelling and pain did not ease.  Next, Keleş went to the hospital
where she works and there doctors determined that she had had
an alergic reaction to the undetermined (!) material used in the
procedure Soner G. had performed.

This week Keleş will undergo another operation to try to extract
the unknown material from her lips. If that is not possible, her
lips will have to be completely removed.  As for Soner G., she
claimed that "I never identified myself as a medical aesthetic
expert.  I didn't do anything to her. I know her only through a
friend.  They wanted money from me and when I didn't give them
any they slandered me.  In fact, I'll file a criminal complaint against
them for blackmail and threats!"

'Bad Dude' to Turn Over New Leaf, After Prison

      Çerkez Cengiz with respectful admirers.

Cengiz Şıklaroğlu, a.k.a 'Çerkez Cengiz', was elected as an independent
candidate from Sivas in the general election of 7 June 2015 but because
of his criminal record he could not serve in Parliament.  Between 2005 and
2016 in Russia Şıklaroğlu was tried for leading a criminal organization,
military spying and attempting to assassinate Chechenistan President
Ramazan Kadirov, but he was aquitted each time.

At the beginning of 2016, after coming to Turkey Şıklaroğlu was tried
and convicted of forcing some businessmen to sign over valuables to him
for aid to the Turkmen population in Syria.  A few days ago he entered
Maltepe Prison in Istanbul, escorted by a convoy of 100 vehicles.


                   I think we got us a convoy...

In front of the prison Şıklaroğlu had this to say: "We were brought up
on the streets. I've paid enough.  Ten months later I'll come back even
stronger.  I say here that Turkey doesn't need mafia (!), it needs real scientists,
real politicians and real businessmen. My one requests from my friends is
that they get educated and take care of each other."



  

Basic Instinct: Bears & Honey

Can't bear the thought of a honey-less night.

İbrahim Sedef, the deputy mayor of Sürmene district in Trabzon, has
been raising bees in his tea garden for 7 years.  But over the course of
the past year bears in his vicinity have attacked 30 hives and cost him
more than 60,000 TL (about $25,000) in damages.

Sedef has been searching for a way to protect the honeycombs so he
put the hives inside a steel cage set on top of a concrete base and
installed a camera, as well.  Nevertheless, a bear came and dug the soil
out from under the concrete base in order to reach the hives, getting at
6 of them.  Sedef said that he is scared of the bears and that "this time
the damage is 5,000 TL.  I'll fix the cage again and see what happens."


Sürmene district is in eastern Trabzon province.

'Pampers' Anti-Tank System Seized at Zonguldak

   Just bonus gifts for diaper customers. Honest!

A truck which arrived at Zonguldak on the ship Cenk-Y from Ukraine
on Thursday drew the suspicion of customs officials at the port.  The
truck, driven by Iranian E.E. (38) and bearing license plate 72B74110/
72B74210, contained baby diapers (!) as listed on the manifest, but a
search of the cab revealed military binoculars and 'mechanisms'.  

Additional 'mechanisms' were found in the truck's windbreaker and
equipment cabinet.  Further investigations found that the 'mechanisms'
were parts of the Russian-made 9K111 FAGOT or 9K113 KONURS
anti-tank guided missile systems.  Other elements of the systems, to
include firing and target acquisition mechanisms, were discovered,
as well.

These anti-tank missiles systems are used by terrorist organizations
like ISIS, PKK and PYD.  Driver E.E. explained to customs officials
that an Iranian student in Kiev had paid him to load the material on
his truck and bring it to Iran.  While E.E. was taken to jail, Turkish
officials surmised that the parts had been initially sent to Ukraine for
repair or maintenance by a terrorist organization.
