                            These kids today...

In Bolu, businessman Yurdaer Kalaycı turned over operation of
his hotel to his son in 2013.  In the aftermath of a gunfight that left
3 people wounded at the hotel restaurant, though, Kalaycı posted
this on his social media page: "Inan Kalaycı, whom I'm ashamed
to call my son, has driven the Yurdaer Mutfak Sanat Merkezi and
gas station into the ground.  May God spare anyone else from this
fate.  I'm so ashamed."

The night before last İ.B., who is a managing partner, opened fire
on customers at the hotel's restaurant on the D-100 highway.  Hit
by the gunfire was G.Ç. and N.A., who tried to break up the
confrontation.  Customer A.A. was hit by a ricochet bullet.  İ.B.
was taken into custody.  Yurdaer Kalaycı has filed suit to have his
son vacate the hotel.

          ...they grow up so quick. (sigh)...

In Bakırköy, Istanbul, G.S.G, the son of a public prosecutor, had
an argument with his girlfriend in the tea garden of his aparment
house complex. Workers in the garden roughed up G.S.G. in
response to the incident, which took place in the Ataköy 5 Kasım
complex's tea garden.

Embarrassed by being slapped around in front of his girlfriend,
G.S.G. went to his house in the judges and prosecutors' living
quarters in back of the tea garden, found a pump-action rifle
and began firing at the tea garden workers from the window of his
home, wounding two individuals.

Police arrived on the scene and spent two hours trying to get
G.S.G. to surrender.  Abdülhamit Pahıl, who was struck in the
chest, was taken to a hospital for treatment, while the other
injured person left the grounds under his own power.

İmam Asks Ex-Hubby's Help for Ex-Wife's Hand

They all have the same eyes - they're probably related (ugh!).

In Sultanbeyli, Istanbul, Savaş H. (36) and Emine E. (32) got
married in 2004 but they divorced in 2014.  At that time, custody
of their 9 year-old son was given to the mother, with Savaş H.
paying 500 TL per month in alimony and child support.

According to Savaş H., two years ago Ö.B., the imam at a mosque
in their neighborhood, became friendly with Emine E.  In fact, in
order to win Emine's favor Ö.B. paid for all the expenses related to a
private boarding school for the son in Manisa. Nevertheless, Ö.B.
could not convince Emine hanım to marry him.

A few months ago, a desperate Ö.B. began sending messages to
Savaş bey imploring him to "convince Emine hanım to be my wife.
I'll be a good husband for her and a good father for her son.  Let's
make a deal that would be good for you, too.  If she marries me you'll
be freed from alimony.  So put pressure on her to marry me.  We'll both
be better off.  Otherwise, you'll have to work like a dog forever."

Unimpressed by Ö.B.'s offer, Savaş bey went to the Sultanbeyli
District Mufti's office to complain about Ö.B. on 19 June.  The related
investigation is ongoing.

         'Hero' designation a bit premature.

A shocking claim has arisen regarding the suspect in a murder
last month in Yüreğir, Adana, that has sparked controversy on
social media.  Emrah B. (33) killed Muhammet Reşit Yıldırım (17)
for raping his 13 year-old daughter and was declared a hero by
many people, who then appealed to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
to pardon Emrah B.

Emrah B. separated from his wife two years ago and gained custody
of their daughter F.N.B. (13).  On 14 August Emrah B. killed Yıldırım,
whom he claimed had raped his daughter. After being captured Emrah
B. declared that "the person I killed raped my 13 year-old daughter.
I committed the murder so that the same thing wouldn't happen to
other girls."  In the subsequent investigation it was learned that F.N.B.
is two months pregnant.

Emrah B. was taken into custody for the murder but he was touted as
a hero on social media, complete with a campaign to have President
Erdoğan pardon him.  However, it turned out that 8 days before he
murdered Yıldırım, Emrah B. had tried to marry C.N., a 15 year-old
Syrian immigrant girl (!), whom he saw while selling goods from his
stall at a bazar.  Her father A.N. rejected the proposal of  Emrah B.,
who threatened to kill A.N. and had to be pepper-sprayed by police
when arrested.

In his own defense, Emrah B. asserted that "I saw C.N. at the bazar
and they said she was 18.  We were going to get married. They got
3,000 TL from me for shopping and they wanted another 20,000 TL.
When I said I wouldn't give it to them we argued."  Emrah B. was
released pending trial for resisting arrest but was then incarcerated
for the murder of Yıldırım.

                        Latin scholars take note.

Osman Gökmen (38) works at the human relations department of
the Bodrum Municipal Culture and Social Affairs Directorate and
he is a professional diver, as well.  When Gökmen was 16 he was
examined by a doctor who found that all of Gökmen's internal
organs are on the 'wrong' side.

So, as a precaution, Gökmen has had a tatoo put on his chest that
reads "situs inversus totalis" to alert anyone who might ever need
to treat him.  Gökmen explained that "when they said that I should
have a bracelet or some other thing to alert doctors that my internal
organs are reversed, I decided to have the tatoo done as the solution."

     Next time you complain about a hangnail...

Erdal Yalçın (42) was only 2 when meningitis left him 98% paralyzed.
But despite never having gone to school Yalçın has written his 16th
book (!).  Yalçın can only use his right thumb to write his books, which
he sells himself at book fairs and amid city crowds.  Next, Yalçın
will attend the Anatolia University Open Education program. In
addition to writing, Yalçın, from Diyarbakır, also does oil paintings.

Flat Earth Defender Blames Globular Masons

              Yes! Now it all makes sense!

Togay Demir, the district chief of the ruling AKP party's youth
branches in Fatih, Istanbul, published an article on his akgencfatih.
com website entitled "The Flat Earth Theory".  Demir, who is also
the head of the Environment, City and Culture Unit in Fatih,
asserts in his article that the Earth is flat and that those who purport
that the Earth is round are the Masons (!).

Demir declared that NASA's space photographs are all photoshopped,
adding that "there's no need to mention the conspiracy about going to
the Moon because it didn't happen and the related images were made
in a studio.  There are many proofs and analyses of this."  Demir
added that nothing has ever left the Earth, saying "taken together,
we see that it's all a secret big game that they're trying to hide from
us."


He has that 'I know something you don't' look on his face.

Geckos: Antique Cities' Enemy Number One

Conspiracy theorists hard at work to spin this one.

The 15-person restoration team working at the 2,700 year-old
Parion Antique City excavation 30 kilometers from Biga district
of Çanakkale province, has begun preventative pointing and
curbing measures to counter the geckos that harm the historical
tissue of the city.

In the scope of the restoration work underway in the 'Odeion'
section, the team is working to cope with the damage that results
when the geckos and certain insects eat the seeds of the fig trees
at the top of the section.  The creatures then leave the resulting
feces between the rocks and marble where, consequently, buds
sprout between the historic masonry producing damage.

To forestall the damage the team has spread lime, sand and pieces
of clay in the area, along with implementing the pointing and
curbing efforts.  Parion excavation chief Zafer Karahan explained
that "the cracks (the geckos cause) are irreversible so were closing
off all areas to the geckos and insects, stopping the buds from
sprouting.  Our greatest enemy is the gecko (!).  A gecko can
destroy an antique city."

Fleeing Thief Runs Into Boxer

In the Mollafeneri neighborhood of Fatih, Istanbul, an escaping
thief who came face to face with a boxer was in for the surprise
of his life.  The foreign thief tried to break into a jewelry store
but the alarm went off and police gave chase.  By chance, coming
in the opposite direction was Kadir Sevim, a 15-year veteran of
the professional boxing game.  As the police yelled "Stop thief!"
Sevim confronted the fleeing robber and knocked him down with
one punch.
