Nothing better to do than to save sunken cars at 1 in the morning.

The night before last in Adana's Atakent neighborhood, citizens who saw
a car submerged in an irrigation canal with its headlights on called police.
As the police tried to remove the car from the canal, a passing citizen
named Aziz Çelik (a.k.a. Good Samaritan) stopped his car, took off his
clothes and jumped into the canal  He then  succeeded in tying a rope to
the car to keep it from drifting further along with the canal's current.

The car, with no one inside, was removed from the canal and its owner
identified as Hatice Kübra İ. (21).  Concurrently, police spoke by phone
with Hatic Kübra, who explained that her boyfriend Çağrı A. (27) had
called her to say that "if you leave me I'll push your car into the canal!"
Police contacted Çağrı A., who confirmed Hatice Kübra's account. (!)

                                    ISIS??

In Şanlıurfa's Birecik district, motorcyclist Deniz Özkesiciler (20) was
beheaded at he drove his motorcycle along a bike path.  Someone had
tied a rope across the bike path from a lamp post to a tree.  The incident
occurred yesterday at around noon in the Meydan neighborhood. Police
are searching for the person who tied the rope.


Birecik is the westernmost district of Şanlıurfa province.

In Kahramanmaraş, Beytullah Eroğlu, the oldest of Mustafa and Fatma
Eroğlu's 4 children, was born without both arms.  Beytullah did not leave
his house until he was 7 years old but with his father's support he began
elementary school.  Soon Beytullah learned to write with his feet but his
life really changed when he met Osman Çullu, the head of the
Kahramanmaraş Handicapped Swimming Club and coach of the Turkish
national swimming team.

With the aid of a special 'boat', Beytullah was able to float on the water
but, as he explained, "this took a full 6 years.  It was very tough but I
learned to swim."  Since then Beytullah has won many medals for Turkey.
He explained that "rather than sink into a shell and give up I decided to
make the best of my life. I want to thank President Erdoğan and Sports
Minister Akif Çağatay Kılıç for their support. I'm working out 7 hours
each day in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics."

The resemblance is uncanny...except for the eyes.

In Istanbul, an epilation scandal ended up at the police station.  Nazlı K.
(22) went to a beauty salon in Avcılar for laser epilation.  When she returned
for a second treatment a new employee named Yasemin performed the
treatment and ruined the tatoo of Frida Kahlo (!) on Nazlı K.'s arm.  Although
Nazlı K. experienced pain and distress, Yasemin continued the laser treatment.

Nazlı K. got a hospital report to confirm her injuries and went to the police
station to file a complaint against Yasemin.  In her statement, Nazlı K. said
that "the person doing the laser treatment was inept because even I know that
you don't put a laser on a tatoo.  And even though I told her to stop, she didn't.
I have burns and blisters now but most importantly my Frida Kahlo tatoo was
ruined."

           We're not in Uzbekistan anymore...

The night before last in Pendik district of Istanbul, Uzbeks M.A. and D.A.
were taken into custody on charges of prostitution.  After visiting the police
station, the women were taken to Pendik State Hospital for a health exam.
After the exam, while police were taking M.A. and D.A. back to the
Çamçeşme police station they noticed a car following them.

When the police car stopped in front of the police station, D.A. fled to the
side streets and M.A. got into the car that was following the police car.
As the car pulled away police fired at it but the car disappeared.  Soon
afterwards, police learned that the car had come to a hospital for treatment
of two injured passengers.

At the hospital police found pimp Yunus Çelik and M.A.  Subsequently,
Çelik was transferred to Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital where he succumbed
his gunshot wounds.  M.A.'s condition is said to be serious.  Police later
captured C.B., F.K.   R.S., the policeman who fired on the fleeing car
was taken into custody, as well (!).  D.A. was captured later on.
