The halls of justice. Just hope your case isn't one of them.
The corridors and rooms of the Istanbul Palace of Justice in
Çağlayan, where case files are kept, have been invaded by
bedbugs. The lawyers who work there assert that the the
building's warehouse and archives have also fallen victim to
the insects.
The lawyers say that because of the resulting fumigation they
have been victimized,as case files have been scattered hither and
yon in preparation for the fumigation. "We're spending hours
with court workers trying to locate our case files but it's
impossible to find them. Our rights are being violated!"
Another lawyer noted that "officials are quick to laud the building
for being the biggest justice palace in Europe but the files clerk
only checks them once a week so the task of finding their files
among the piles falls to the lawyers themselves. There is also a
problem with water. Unfortunately, this is the situation here."
Looks pretty nice...from the outside.

Short-term returns on the 'steal & sell back' business model.
Police have caught nine people from two separate gangs that
were selling luxury cars they stole with new plates and documents.
The leaders of the two gangs, Mehmet Ali A. (29) and Umit A. (28)
were among those arrested.
The suspects even sold cars back to their original owners, saying to
them "we have your car. If you don't give us money we'll cut it up."
The 're-sale' prices ranged between 10,000 and 15,000 TL (about
3,000 and 5,000 USD).

For a few drops more...
In Kağıthane, Istanbul, Hasan Kaya (44) was selling bottled water amid
the jammed-up traffic on the D-100 highway last night at about
8:30 PM. When Kaya saw authorities he tried to run away and jumped
onto the Metrobus lane, where he was hit and killed by a bus making
the Zincirlikuyu-Beylikdüzü run. Metrobus traffic was halted for two
hours because of the incident.
