(TRT Haberler website, 21 March 2026)

                       Specializes in special deliveries.

Yesterday, a pregnant woman who boarded a Bornova-Buca "dolmuş"
(minibus) on Bornova Industrial Street experienced labor pains.
Other passengers informed the driver, Serkan Çetinyoklav, of the situation.

Çetinyoklav steered the vehicle towards a nearby private hospital. During
this time, the woman gave birth in the vehicle (!). Upon notification
from the passenger and Serkan bey at the hospital entrance, medical
personnel arrived and cut the baby's umbilical cord inside the vehicle.
The mother and baby were taken into the hospital.  Following the birth,
it was learned that the mother and baby, who were receiving treatment
at the hospital, are in good health.

Serkan Çetinyoklav told reporters that the pregnant woman boarded
the minibus alone. He explained that the woman experienced labor pains
a few minutes later, saying, "When the woman next to her told me about
the situation, I asked another female passenger to help the pregnant
woman. When she said, 'Brother, labor is happening,' I decided to
forget about the other passengers in the minibus and take her to the
hospital as a humanitarian duty. I drove the minibus to the hospital."

Baby girl with an unusual birthplace.

Çetinyoklav, stating that he has been a driver for 35 years and this was
the first time he had encountered such a situation, said: "When we arrived
at the hospital, I told the nurses, 'I have a passenger who just gave birth.'
The birth happened in the dolmuş. The nurses wrapped the baby, cut the
umbilical cord, and took her to the ward with the mother. I know it's a girl.
I would like to meet the family. I want to say, 'Congratulations, may she
have a bright future.'"

Çetinyoklav added that he experienced the joy of helping someone in need,
and that all drivers would do the same.

"Sue & No-Release": 10 Years Later, Compensation Awarded in Negligence Case...But Appeal Drags On, in Antalya

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 20 March 2026)

                         A hole in one.

Coming to Antalya from Germany for a holiday for New Year's at the
end of 2016, Yunus Güray (60) fell into an unprotected pit in the
archaeological excavation site under the supervision of the Museum
Directorate. Güray suffered a 3% disability in his leg, and the matter
was taken to court. In the lawsuit filed due to the negligence of the
Museum Directorate, it was decided that Güray should be paid
1 million 50 thousand TL (about $23,700) in compensation.

The case concerning Yunus Güray, a tourist from Germany who fell
into a 2-meter-deep pit during excavations and restoration work in the
Tophane Tea Garden area, located within the Kaleiçi Urban and Third
Degree Archaeological Site, as part of the 'Antalya Republic Square
and Tophane Tea Garden Arrangement Revision Project,' has concluded.
The case file in the Antalya 4th Administrative Court states that Yunus
Güray, who arrived in Antalya from Germany on December 31, 2016,
fell into the 2-meter-deep pit around 00:30 on January 1, 2017, while
trying to watch the celebrations in Republic Square, and suffered serious
leg injuries.

The expert committee's investigation revealed that despite the decision
of the Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, and the
supervision and control of the Antalya Museum Directorate regarding
archaeological excavation work, no necessary precautions were taken
to prevent citizens from falling into these excavation pits and sustaining
injuries outside of working hours.

In the compensation lawsuit filed on behalf of Yunus Güray, who
underwent six surgeries after being injured when he fell into an excavation
pit under the responsibility of the Museum Directorate, a total of 1,050,000
TL in material compensation was demanded, along with legal interest from
the date of the incident.

In its decision, the Antalya 4th Administrative Court stated that, according
to the expert examination, the archaeological excavations cited as the cause
of the damage claims were carried out under the supervision and control
of the Antalya Museum Directorate, and that there were relevant decisions
from the Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. The ruling
stated that the safety measures taken were insufficient within the scope of
occupational safety regulations and that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
was found to be 100% at fault for the damage incurred. It further stated,
"Therefore, it is clear that the defendant administration must compensate
the plaintiff for the material damages suffered due to the administration's
negligence. It has been concluded that the plaintiff should be paid a total of
1,050,745 TL in material compensation, consisting of 1,045,000 TL for
permanent disability compensation and 4,927 TL for treatment expenses,
as determined by the expert report and subsequently amended by the
plaintiff, along with legal interest accruing from the application date
of May 8, 2017."

The appeal filed with the Fourth Chamber of the Antalya Regional
Administrative Court against the compensation decision of the 4th
Administrative Court of Antalya, seeking a stay of execution, was also
rejected.

Yunus Güray, describing the day of the incident, said, "It was New Year's
Day, we landed at the airport. There were 3-5 people there that day. We
took a taxi together. We came to the city center, having fun. I checked
into the hotel and said, 'Let me see how they're celebrating New Year's
here.' It had only been 1-2 hours since we arrived. I went down towards
the marina. There's an elevator on the left, there used to be cafes, it was
a green area. They had lit a fire there. They were dancing, there was an
enclosed area. I said, 'Let me cross over and look at the fire.' There
were stairs 50 meters ahead. I didn't see the pits, I fell 2 meters down
while walking, landing on one foot. I broke my ankle, at the heel. The
area around it was not protected. A week later, I returned to Germany on
a private plane."

Güray, noting that they submitted photographs and videos of the scene
to the court, said, "They ruined my life, I have a metal plate in my leg,
they crippled me. They almost amputated my leg. Now I have a
permanent disability. I couldn't recover for a year, I was having surgery
every two weeks. I stayed in a hospital in Germany for 3 months and I
have a 3% disability in my leg."

One small step for Yunus bey & one never-ending court case.

Yunus Güray, who found the compensation amount insufficient (!), said:
"My plane ticket alone cost 22,000 euros. It's been 9 years, and it wasn't
just one hole. The men dug and dug and then left. This incident happened
right in the city center. If it were in a forest, I could say, 'Okay, it's my fault.
I went and fell.' But it was in the city center, it wasn't fenced off. It was
a lush green area, and it was nighttime. I sued them, and they filled those
holes after 3 months. There were 6-7 holes dug in different places. It
wasn't just one. I still have a metal plate in my leg. It wasn't a fair decision."

Yunus Güray's lawyer, Belemir Davaslı, stated that the opposing party's
appeal process is ongoing, adding, "However, compensation has been
ordered. The institution has 30 days to pay. We are waiting; if they don't pay,
an appeal can be filed. But the decision is not final yet. The opposing party
has appealed. The compensation, which is around 1 million 50 thousand TL,
will be paid with interest, and calculations will be made in this regard.
Assessments and damages are being made according to the health condition,
how much disability remains. The court is also evaluating these aspects."

"Beat & Release": Gruesome Murder Illuminated by a Blue Light, Six Years Later, in Istanbul

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 17 March 2026)

"Blue Light Special" award for great police work!

On July 3, 2019, in Maltepe, Istanbul, Ersin Yılmaz (37), upon learning
of his Uzbekistani wife Khurriyat Tursun Boeva's (35) relationship with
her former lover, killed her by hitting her on the head with a stick during
an argument at home. After keeping the body in the balcony space for a
month, Yılmaz brought it inside because it smelled, dismembered its limbs,
and threw them in the trash. Seven years after the incident, while
examining missing person reports, police teams identified suspicious
statements and uncovered the murder through a "luminol" analysis
conducted on the balcony, where lime had been poured to cover the
smell.

NOTE: "Luminol" is a white-yellow crystalline chemical that emits blue
light (chemiluminescence) when it reacts with an oxidizing agent
(hydrogen peroxide). It is primarily used in forensics to detect traces of
cleaned or invisible blood, based on the principle that it glows when it
reacts with iron in the blood.

According to the allegations, Ersin Yılmaz, a hairdresser living in Didim,
Aydın province with his mother, father, and wife Khurriyat Tursun Boeva,
frequently argued with his wife, the mother of his two children, due to
jealousy. In 2019, he and his wife moved to Istanbul and settled in the
Fındıklı neighborhood of Maltepe. After the couple moved into their
rented apartment, Sevara Zakhıdova, unable to contact her sister Khurriyat,
filed a missing person report with the prosecutor's office on October 30,
2019. Yılmaz told family members and the police that he had argued with
his wife, that she had left him, and that she had been deported.

Following a special instruction from Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız,
police teams from the Missing Persons Bureau of the Public Security Branch,
after reviewing files taken down from the shelf, determined that there was
no record of the missing Khurriyat leaving the country and that her phone
was actively in circulation.

Suspicious, police teams listened to neighbors on Zambak Street, who
reported that they had argued with Yılmaz due to a bad smell and that
Yılmaz had told them he kept pigeons. Based on this information, police
examined the apartment. Using a chemical analysis technique that uses
blue light to detect blood traces, traces of blood were found on the balcony.

Continuing their investigation based on the evidence, police teams
determined that Yılmaz had filed for divorce from his wife in 2020,
and that the divorce was finalized after five years due to the lack of a
response. They also discovered that Yılmaz had inserted a SIM card
into his wife's phone to make it appear as if she were alive, and then
frequently traveled to Georgia using the identity of his friend Anıl Y. (33).

Police teams, who launched an operation to apprehend the murder
suspects, detained Ersin Yılmaz, who had left Georgia and entered
Turkey on March 9, 2026, and gone to Aydın to be with his family,
and his friend Anıl Y. in Istanbul.

In his statement to the police, Ersin Yılmaz confessed to the crime,
"explaining" that he killed his wife by hitting her on the head with a
stick during an argument in the kitchen due to jealousy, while their two
children were in the room. He said he buried her in a space on the
balcony, covered with garden sand, and hid it for a month. He stated
that when the body started to smell, he poured lime into it. When he
couldn't control the smell, he dug up the body, dismembered it, put the
limbs in bags, and threw them into a trash can in the neighborhood.

In his statement, Yılmaz claimed they argued because of images of his
wife with her ex-boyfriend, saying: “During the argument, she insulted
me so much that I lost my temper. When I grabbed a stick, I hit her on
the head, and she fell. The children were in the room and didn't see.
I threw potting soil on her and buried her on the balcony. When I couldn't
cope with the smell, I cut her into pieces, put them in black bags, and
threw them into a container 50 meters away.”

Anıl Y., a friend who was detained for giving his identity to the murder
suspect, stated in his testimony, "I had no knowledge; he told me he was
going abroad."

The two suspects, after completing their procedures at the police station,
were transferred to the Anadolu Courthouse in Kartal.

In the investigation into the death of businessman Ramazan Arıkan,
who was found dead in his ex-wife's house in Ankara, three suspects,
including his ex-wife and son, have been arrested. The forensic report
revealed that Arıkan's body contained high doses of sedatives and
epilepsy medication used in animals. (!) Ramazan bey had a net
worth of 400 million TL (about $1 million).

According to the investigation file initiated by the Ankara Chief Public
Prosecutor's Office, Ramazan bey was found dead on November 16,
2025, at the address where his ex-wife, S.S., resided. A large-scale
investigation was launched by the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie
Command Public Security Branch Directorate teams.

Based on the Forensic Medicine Institute report dated January 14, 2026,
prepared as part of the investigation, the autopsy revealed the presence
of "xylazine" (a sedative) in the victim's body, a substance used in
animals that can cause cardiac arrest when taken in high doses by
humans, and "Gabapentin," a drug used in the treatment of epilepsy.

                                Very candid camera.

the incident occurred determined that Arıkan was brought home by his
son B.A. and M.Ü. around 8:09 PM on the day of the incident, and that
the victim was having difficulty standing. It was also determined that the
victim's daughter, H.S.A., entered the building an hour later and shortly

"Fleece & Release": American Woman Sues for $90,000 in Damages for Unpleasant Hair Transplant, in Istanbul

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 13 March 2026)

                            Hair today, gone tomorrow.

According to a lawsuit filed with the Istanbul Consumer Court,
American citizen Oluwaseun C. sought treatment at a private health
center in Sarıyer due to social anxiety and hair loss.

Based on the allegations, the hair transplant procedure, which was
promised to take 6 hours, lasted more than 8 hours. Oluwaseun C.,
who experienced extraordinary pain during the procedure, underwent
the operation in intense agony despite additional anesthetic injections.
Oluwaseun C.'s pain did not subside after the operation, and her requests,
particularly regarding the top of her head, were ignored, with not a
single hair follicle being transplanted in that area.

Claiming that she experienced severe headaches, constant numbness,
itching, swelling, and depressions in her scalp after the operation,
Oluwaseun C. filed a lawsuit through her lawyer at the Istanbul Consumer
Court. The petition states that Oluwaseun C.'s hair loss increased
throughout her head and the bald areas widened after the operation, adding:
"My client has become unable to go out in public without a wig and hat
in her work and social life. In light of the pain, suffering, loss of
self-confidence, and uncertainty about the future experienced by my client,
we demand that the defendant clinic be ordered to pay 90,250 dollars
(approximately 4 million TL) in material and moral damages."

In the response submitted to the court by the health center's lawyer, it was
stated: "Our client company has fully fulfilled all its medical responsibilities.
The failure of hair transplants in individuals with skin diseases is entirely
due to the individual's medical history, not to any negligent procedures by
the clinic or physician. Therefore, we request the dismissal of this abstract
and unfounded lawsuit."

"Despoil & Release": Tourist Boats Threaten Endangered Seals' Privacy, in Gazipaşa

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 12 March 2026)

"I want to be alone!" - Marlene Dietrich fan.

The last refuge of Mediterranean monk seals, whose numbers have
dwindled to around 900 worldwide, in Gazipaşa, Antalya, has been
turned into a profit-making hub by illegal tours. Raids on the caves,
organized via Telegram and marketed especially to foreign tourists,
are driving the timid animals away from their homes. Following the
emergence of the footage, a report was made to the authorities.

The Mediterranean monk seal, listed as critically endangered by the
World Wildlife Fund (WWF), whose numbers had previously fallen
to 700, has seen its population rise to 900 last year thanks to conservation
efforts. Found only along the coasts of Turkey and Greece, and two
countries in the Eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean monk seal faces its
greatest threat from human-caused factors.

A case highlighting the harm humans inflict on Mediterranean monk
seals occurred in Gazipaşa, Antalya. It was revealed that a person
marketing seal caves to tourists, primarily Russians but also domestic
and foreign visitors, in the Gazipaşa-Alanya region, shared footage in
a closed group on a social media application. An anonymous member
of the group reported the incident, including images showing a
Mediterranean monk seal being disturbed in its den and fleeing in fear.

“Foreigners in the Gazipaşa Russian Telegram chat group are writing that
this man has been hunting seals in these caves in groups for about two
years. The seals particularly like this area of Kızılin Mountain and live
there. Since this man showed these caves to many foreigners who admire
Gazipaşa, satisfied hunters regularly come there on their own. These
caves urgently need protection, and this shameful practice must stop.
Many foreigners are writing that they are doing a good job by driving
the seals away from the caves, believing that this will encourage seal
breeding. I am speechless with shock. I am in despair.”

Seals' sign at cave entrance:  "I'd turn back if I were you!"

Following the report, Cem Orkun Kıraç, Coordinator of the
Mediterranean Monk Seal Research Group affiliated with the
Underwater Research Association, informed the authorities of the
situation along with the images. Kıraç, stating that DKMP officials
will conduct the necessary investigation, said:

“According to the correspondence, a person named Savaş is marketing
to local and foreign tourists, saying, ‘I will show you the Mediterranean
monk seal.’ Despite the fact that entering Mediterranean monk seal dens
is prohibited by law, he is marketing this to tourists in a Telegram group.
Why is entering the Mediterranean monk seal cave prohibited? Because
it only remains in four countries in the world. We are talking about a very
rare creature with only 900 individuals remaining worldwide. These four
countries are struggling to protect it and ensure its survival. In Turkey,
there are 120 identified individuals, perhaps 150. We are not counting
young and pups; the number of adults is 120. Why are people entering
their caves? Because of its timid nature, the animal is introverted and
fearful, staying away from people. And that's why it goes to caves.
Actually, caves are not their habitat. The Mediterranean monk seal is
not an animal that lives in cramped caves. It takes refuge in caves due
to excessive human pressure. Now you are disturbing them in their last
refuge. This man is also conducting tours.”

To the rescue!

"Beat & Release": Ex-Boxer, Now a Loan Shark, Kills "Indebted" Friend With a Punch, in Istanbul

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 12 March 2026)

                                       In happier days...

According to allegations, Seyit Göçüm (47) repaid the 400,00 TL
(about $9,000) he borrowed from his friend Gürsoy K., a former boxer,
2 years ago, with interest, amounting to approximately 4 million lira.
However (!), Gürsoy K., who continued to demand money, assaulted
Göçüm, with whom he had a disagreement. Göçüm died in the
hospital after being taken there following the punch he received.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Pınartepe
neighborhood of Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district. Allegedly, former boxer
Gürsoy K. lent his close friend Seyit Göçüm 400,000 TL two years ago.
Last April, Seyit Göçüm married Mona Behmeni, and Gürsoy K. was his
witness at the wedding (!). Since the time of the loan, Göçüm has repaid
Gürsoy approximately 4 million TL (about $90,000) (!), including interest.
However (!), Gürsoy continued to demand more money. After a while,
Seyit Göçüm fell ill and, on the advice of doctors, quit his job. His wife,
Mona hanım, left her beauty salon to her employees and took over her
husband's business.

On January 13, 2026, Gürsoy K. went to Göçüm's workplace, which was
being managed by Mona Behmeni, and demanded more money.
Göçüm's wife, Behmeni hanım, said to Gürsoy K., "We gave you two
luxury cars, and we made payments many times, both in cash and through
the bank. Why isn't this debt being paid off? I'll give you my beauty center
too, just to close this matter." Upon hearing this, Gürsoy K. told Behmeni
to have her husband come and settle the matter.

The following day, Gürsoy K. and Seyit Göçüm met at a cafe next to their
workplace. After sitting for a while, the two got up and left. As they were
walking down the street, Gürsoy punched Göçüm. Göçüm collapsed from
the blow, and bystanders alerted his wife who was sitting inside the
workplace. When she came out, Gürsoy K. attacked her as well. The couple
called the police. While police were investigating the scene,
Seyit Göçüm fainted and died in the hospital. The entire incident was
captured on security cameras of nearby businesses.

Mona hanım, describing what happened, said, “My husband had an illness.
The doctors said, 'He should stay away from stress.' So my husband quit his
job and started staying home to rest. I also quit my beauty salon and took
over my husband's business. I started working in his place.

On January 13th, Gürsoy K. came to my husband's workplace. He asked me,
'Where is your husband?'” I told him, "You know my husband is sick and
resting at home." He said my husband still owed him money. I asked,
"What debt? Hasn't this debt been paid off yet?" and offered to give him
my beauty salon. He said, "Tell your husband to come tomorrow and sort
this out, otherwise I'll kill him first and then demolish the beauty salon."

That evening, I told my husband what happened, but I didn't tell him the
part where Gürsoy K. threatened me. On January 14th, my husband and
Gürsoy sat in a cafe next to his workplace. After sitting for 5-6 minutes,
they got up. While walking, Gürsoy punched my husband, even though
he knew he was sick. When my husband became ill, the neighbors came
and told me. When I went outside, Gürsoy hit me too. People around
separated us. Then my husband told me to call the police and a lawyer.
The police and the lawyer arrived. My husband explained everything,
and at that moment, he became ill and fainted in front of the police.
And I lost my husband."

Following the incident, Gürsoy K. was taken into custody by police. He

(HaberTürk website, 11 March 2026)

                                 A  bit of a mismatch.

In Konya, national weightlifter S.B.K. (20) allegedly assaulted E.B.İ.,
a male student, and his twin sister at school because they had been
mocking and bullying his sister I.K. (14) over her weight. S.B.K. was
detained after the incident but released after giving his statement.

The incident occurred on February 3rd at Adnan Hadiye Sürmegöz
Middle School on Güvence Street in Feritpaşa Neighborhood, Selçuklu
district. I.K., a student at the school, allegedly told her family that her
peer E.B.İ. had been mocking her because of her weight.

Following this, I.K.'s mother and older brother, S.B.K., went to meet
with the school principal, R.Ş. While S.B.K.'s mother was meeting with
the principal in his office, S.B.K encountered E.B.İ. waiting in the
corridor. After an argument ensued, S.B.K. attacked E.B.İ. with punches
and kicks. The teacher on duty noticed the situation and tried to
intervene and separate them. At that moment, E.B.İ.'s twin sister arrived
and reacted. S.B.K. then attacked E.B.İ.'s sister with punches as well.

Bullying deterrent

The parties were separated by the intervention of the teachers. S.B.K.
was taken into custody by police teams called upon the report. S.B.K.,
who was learned to have won a European championship in weightlifting
when he was 17 years old, was released after giving his statement.

School Principal R.Ş., in his statement to the police after the incident,
explained what happened. In his statement, R.Ş. said, “On the day of the
incident, the mother of my student came to the principal's office. She
told me that a student named E.B.İ. was bullying her daughter because
of her weight. I told her, 'Let's evaluate the matter with the vice
principal and guidance counselor responsible for 7th and 8th grade
students.'

"At that time, I saw on the camera in my room that there was shouting
and chaos on the floor where the principal's office was located.
Afterwards, I immediately went out into the corridor and saw the
teacher on duty intervening in the fight. I told S.B.K., whose name I
learned because of the incident, 'I'm talking to your mother about this
matter, what you did is wrong. You can't just walk into the school and
beat up students based on what your sister  said, without talking to us.
What would happen if everyone did the same?'" he said.

"Beat & Release": 18-year "Hedgehog" Murder Case Solved - CSI Zonguldak

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 10 March 2026)

                           The resemblance is uncanny.

An indictment has been prepared against four suspects, two of whom
are in custody, for allegedly murdering Ahmet Yılmaz, nicknamed 'Kirpi'
(Hedgehog), whose bones were found in the Ulutan Dam in 2010, two
years after he disappeared in Zonguldak. The indictment seeks a life
sentence for the crime of 'intentional murder in complicity'. It states that
Yılmaz was strangled in a car, his body was hidden in a sack in an
abandoned illegal coal mine, and then thrown into the dam lake.

In 2010, human bones were found near the Ulutan Dam in Zonguldak.
In 2012, DNA tests identified the bones as belonging to Ahmet Yılmaz,
a married man with five children who had disappeared in 2008. It was
stated that Ahmet Yılmaz's bones were found by a fisherman on
December 9, 2010, when the water level in the dam receded. At the
time of the investigation, a decision of non-prosecution was issued in
2012, based on the DNA results, on the grounds that there was
"no evidence that Ahmet Yılmaz had been murdered."

However (!), in 2023, in the organized crime case in Zonguldak, in
which Emircan İ. (45) is accused of being the leader, the non-prosecution
decision was overturned and the case was reopened after a defendant
named H.P. confessed to killing Ahmet Yılmaz by shooting him in the
head and throwing him into the dam, based on a statement he had heard
but described as if he had lived through it.

The Public Security Branch Directorate teams took over the case of
Ahmet Yılmaz's death in 2025, as there were no injuries from cutting,
stabbing, or gunshot wounds on his body. As part of the investigation
coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, statements were
taken from 20 people. In this context, coded notes exchanged between
the suspects during their time in prison in 2009 under the 'criminal
organization' case were also deciphered.

It was determined that those involved in the murder made false
applications and statements to conceal his death, such as 'Ahmet lives
in Istanbul. I bought drugs from him, he lives in a hotel.' It was revealed
that Emircan İ., Tarık Y. (50), Köksal A. (48), and Baycan İ. tried to
conceal the murder in this way for many years.

Based on the statements taken, it was determined that İlker E.
explained that he committed the murder to instil fear in his friends (!).
Following this, İlker E., who was already in custody for another
crime, was questioned. On November 11, 2025, İlker E. was also
arrested in connection with the 'Kirpi Ahmet' murder.

Police teams subsequently conducted technical surveillance, phone
tapping, and HTS (cellphone)base station analysis. On February 22,
the teams carried out an operation and detained Emircan İ., Köksal A.,
and Tarık Y.

Within the scope of the case, the possibility emerged that Ahmet
Yılmaz was murdered due to suspicion that he would report other
gang members in a theft incident that occurred during an internal
gang dispute. It was learned that Emircan İ. claimed that he argued
with and strangled Yılmaz because of an affair between the deceased
Baycan İ. and Yılmaz's wife.

On February 26, the suspects were brought to court as part of the
investigation. Emircan İ., who was charged with "intentional
homicide in complicity," was placed under house arrest because he
was not in the vehicle on the day of the incident. Köksal A. and
Tarık Y. were arrested. İlker E., who was already in custody for this
crime, was released under judicial supervision.

The Zonguldak Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment
regarding the incident. The indictment states that Ahmet Yılmaz was
strangled to death on November 1, 2008, after an argument while
driving around with his friends Baycan İ., Köksal A., and Tarık Y.,
following the news that he would report the gang.

The indictment further states that Emircan İ. explained that the
argument stemmed from a relationship between Baycan İ. and Yılmaz's
wife; Köksal A. exercised his right to remain silent and denied the
accusations; and Tarık Y. confessed that Baycan İ. strangled "Kirpi
Ahmet" in the car, they put the body in a sack, first dumped it in an
abandoned illegal coal mine, and then later threw it into the Ulutan
Dam. The four suspects, who were also taken to the crime scene for
on-site investigation, are facing life imprisonment for "intentional
homicide in complicity."
