"Beat & Release": Wealthy Businessman Poisoned by Ex-wife and Son, in Ankara

       Ramazan Bey's murder solved during Ramazan.

In the investigation into the death of businessman Ramazan Arıkan, 

who was found dead in his ex-wife's house in Ankara, three suspects, 

including his ex-wife and son, have been arrested. The forensic report 

revealed that Arıkan's body contained high doses of sedatives and 

epilepsy medication used in animals. (!) Ramazan bey had a net

worth of 400 million TL (about $1 million).

According to the investigation file initiated by the Ankara Chief Public 

Prosecutor's Office, Ramazan bey was found dead on November 16, 

2025, at the address where his ex-wife, S.S., resided. A large-scale 

investigation was launched by the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie 

Command Public Security Branch Directorate teams.

Based on the Forensic Medicine Institute report dated January 14, 2026, 

prepared as part of the investigation, the autopsy revealed the presence 

of "xylazine" (a sedative) in the victim's body, a substance used in 

animals that can cause cardiac arrest when taken in high doses by 

humans, and "Gabapentin," a drug used in the treatment of epilepsy.

Teams examining the security camera footage from the building where 

the incident occurred determined that Arıkan was brought home by his 

son B.A. and M.Ü. around 8:09 PM on the day of the incident, and that 

the victim was having difficulty standing. It was also determined that the 

victim's daughter, H.S.A., entered the building an hour later and shortly 

afterward arrived at the residence of the victim's ex-wife, S.S.

Subsequently, it was determined that the suspects S.S., M.Ü., and B.A. 

left the building together, and immediately afterward, the daughter H.S.A. 

called the 112 Emergency Call Center, and the ambulance arrived at the 

address at 10:11 PM.

Following instructions from the Chief Prosecutor's Office, M.Ü. and the 

victim's son B.A., who were apprehended in an operation conducted by 

the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams, were arrested on March 10th.

Based on the suspects' statements, the victim's ex-wife, S.S., was taken 

into custody today. He was arrested, while his daughter H.S.A. was released 

under judicial supervision.
