                         ...in happier days.

In Bodrum, Fatih Zencir (38), a cook, met Faiza Drid (41) of England
at the airport with flowers and candles in April, as he proposed marriage
to her. However, as the result of an argument on the Bitez shore in Bodrum,
Zencir stabbed Drid in the neck and face (!).  The young woman was
taken to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Training and Research Hospital,
where she remains in the intensive care unit.

"Bodrum Masalı" (Bodrum Fairy Tale), set in Bitez, has had its
share of relationship tumult this season, too.  Something in the
water there?...

Zencir was apprehended 10 hours after the stabbing incident at a house
where he was hiding.  He explained that "after she came to Bodrum she
wouldn't leave the bars and discos.  She shamed herself and me. I was
drunk and did something in a moment of anger. I don't even know what
I did."

Esrarengiz Alman’dan bildiri atan düzenek!
Science fair project gets a field test.

The incident occurred at a hotel opposite Gezi Park in Taksim Square,
Istanbul.  German citizen Morius Sebastian Enden (26) took a room in
the hotel overlooking the park and then left sometime during the night.
In the morning hotel employees noticed that flyers had rained down on
the street below from the Enden's room and called the police.

Maybe with the publicity he'll do a Coke add.

Once Enden's room was identified as the source of the flyers, police
entered it and found an incredible apparatus comprised of a camera
system and printer linked to an internet source other than the hotel's
WİFİ system.  Police determined that the apparatus was remotely
controlled by Enden who arranged for his system to spit out the
'political' (see below) flyers onto the street.

According to the Anatolian News Agency, Enden left Turkey that
morning.

Looking at Lokman S., seems his profession was preordained.

Istanbul police arrested Mustafa S. (33) for having a fake ID card.
During interrogation Mustafa S. confessed to police that he had come
to Istanbul to sell his kidney and he agreed to help police catch the
organ-trading gang.  As a result, police captured gang leader Lokman
S. and gang members M.K., G.Y., H.S. and H.G.

Mustafa S. explained that "I was working as a glassmaker in Antalya.
I lost my father when I was 15 and became the head of my family.
My marriage ended because of a lack of money.  I wasn't able to send
money to my siblings studying in Izmir, who called me to say that
'they threw us out of our house so we moved in with our friends.' I
was 25,000 TL in debt and when I saw the add on the internet offering
25,000 TL for a kidney I sent them an application and a photo."

A while later the organ gang sent  Mustafa S. a bus ticket to Istanbul.
He related that "they brought us to a house in Beylikdüzü and they
gave me a fake ID card with my picture on it, saying 'this is your new
name.'  There were 5 others besides me in the house, all of them in
dire straits like me.  I went out of the house to get some air and was
stopped by police checking ID cards.  They figured out it was fake
and took me into custody."

"I told the police that I had come to Istanbul to sell my kidney and
that the gang had given me the fake ID card.  The police wanted me
to help them catch the gang and I agreed.  After that I told them
whenever we went anywhere.  On the day of the operation the police
got us and the prospective kidney recipient out of the hospital without
anyone noticing and caught the gang red-handed."

The gang's M.O. was to lure people in difficult circumstances into
selling their organs for between 20-25,000 TL.  The organs were
then sold to a recipient for 70,000 TL.  The fake ID cards were
prepared to show that the seller was a relative of the recipient, in
order for the operation to be conducted without the need to apply
to the "Organ Ethics Council".

   NSA among his students henceforth.

Kürşat Oğuzhan Akıncı (26) is a cyber security expert at the Defense
Technologies Engineering AŞ company, which is linked to the Turkish
government's Defense Industry Undersecretariat.  A few months ago,
Akıncı detected a critical security breach in the web page of the U.S.
National Security Agency (NSA).

In order to document his finding, Akıncı took a screen image of the
moment of the leak into the www.nsa.gov internet site.  He was then
able to enter into the database housing NSA's personnel information.
By means of the world famous 'Hackerone' prize hunting platform,
Akıncı informed the U.S. Department of Defense of the security breach.

Four months after Akıncı's notification (!), NSA closed the breach and
sent an email to Akıncı asking him to confırm that the breach had in
fact been closed.  Akıncı checked and confırmed to NSA that the breach
had been rectified. In a gesture of thanks to Akıncı, NSA sent him two
badges of appreciation.

Additionally, Akıncı's name was added to the U.S. Defense Department's
'Hall of Flame' (sic, 'Hall of Fame'?), which already includes the names
of 295 other individuals, and the 'white hat' Turkish hacker also became
the 67th person to be included on NSA's list.
