Qumelkhır (yellow box) at the moment of impact.
Algerian Benkaida Qumelkhır (27) came to Istanbul to have some
dental work done along with Muhammed Bafouloulov on 20 April.
The couple settled into a hotel in the Taksim Talimhane section of
Istanbul and remained for Qumelkhır's treatment and to tour the city,
The day before yesterday at arout 3 in the afternoon the couple left
the hotel but, as they walked along, all of a sudden Qumelkhır fell to
the ground. Bafouloulov was astonished to see blood coming from
Qumelkhır's head and she was rushed to Haseki Training and Research
Hospital.
It turned out that Qumelkhır had been hit by a 'lazy' (stray) bullet. She
remains in serious condition. Police have begun an investigation with
lazers to try to determine where the bullet came from. They are also
reviewing MOBESE (street surveillance) video for clues.

They look so innocent...
In Ödemiş district of Izmir province, an astounding accident occurred
at a gas station. A customer wanted to use the high-pressure car
washing hose for 1 TL but the machine wouldn't work. Station worker
Doğan Bodur (47), who has worked there for 13 years, came over to
take a look.
At that moment the machine's pistol fired a stream of high-pressure
water that cut Bodur's neck like a knife. The father of three, two of
them girls, fell to the ground covered in blood and he died en route
to a hospital.
