                      TGIF in spades, in Dearborn.

The Dearborn municipality in Michigan USA had approved the Ramazan
holiday as an official holiday.  Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud,
who is originally from Lebanon and who was elected in 2021, made the
announcement, saying "we believe that in Dearborn, where we have
tried to have an inclusive and varied workforce, it is essential to
recognize the belief traditions and holidays of everyone.  All concerned
are happy about this and they feel well represented."

Dearborn is the first municipality in the USA to give a paid holiday to
its workers on the first day of the Ramazan holiday.   The city of 110,000
people is known as the "Arab Capital of North America" and half the
population hail from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq.  The
city has the largest mosque in the USA.
