Life's a game...that ends in death.
In Adana's Yüreğir district on 27 December at about 2 o'clock in
the morning, Tolgahan Akyüz (25) and Berdan Balsak (22) came
to the coffeeshop of Kafur U. (61), with the intention of playing
board games.
However (!), Kafur U. refused to admit the two, declaring them to
be a danger to his establishment. Other customers joined in the
argument, which spilled out onto the street. Gunfire erupted from
the floor above the coffee shop, hitting and killing both Akyüz and
Balsak.
Kafur U. "explained" that he told the two that "you have enemies,
so your coming and going here puts us in danger. You can't play
games here." In any case, police took Kafur U. and 10 others into
custody. Four unlicensed revolvers and a hunting rifle were
recovered from the homes of the suspects, who all claimed not to
have fired on the deceased. (!) They were, nevertheless, all jailed
on the charge of "murder with intent to kill".
