"What's all the fuss about? This is just what Cengizhan
would do."

Yesterday at five-thirty in the morning a fire broke out in a ground
floor flat of a 3-story apartment building on Aydos Street in the Fatih
neighborhood of Pursaklar district, Ankara.  Sisters Nazmiye Şevval
Y. (21) and İrem Y. (17) were sleeping but woke up thanks to the
cries of their cat Cengizhan.

The girls fled the burning flat, as police, firefighters and a health
team arrived.  The sisters were treated for smoke inhalation and
firefighters entered the flat to rescue Cengizhan.  The fire was
doused in half an hour, with some damage resulting, and an
investigation was opened regarding the cause.

Cengizhan became an instant hero on social media: "This is why I
love house pets!"; "Hero cat Cengizhan!"; "They risk their lives
for us so let's protect them, too!"; "A perfect hero story!"

Ankara's Esenboğa Airport renamed in hero's honor.
