The wrong arm of the law.
An investigation has been launched ex officio against a woman who,
claiming to be a public prosecutor, told a passenger on public transport,
"I'll kill you, you bigot, let's see if you can stay in Turkey after this,"
on charges of 'threat' and 'inciting hatred and hostility or humiliation
against the public'. Y.S., who was found to have 8 previous criminal
records (!), was taken into custody.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex
officio investigation against the suspect, whose video, filmed on a
public transport vehicle and circulated on social media, shows her
claiming to be a public prosecutor. It was determined that Y.S. had
dropped out of the Justice Vocational School, was currently an active
student in the Medical Documentation and Secretarial department of
the Open and Distance Education Faculty, and had 8 previous records
for crimes including 'Theft from a Workplace or Institution', 'Purchasing,
Accepting or Possessing Narcotic or Stimulant Substances for Use',
'Threat-Insult' and 'Intentional Injury'.
The suspect was taken into custody.
