Quite a 'ladykiller', in the worst sense of the word...

In Karacasu district of Aydın province, day laborer Ali Çetin (35),
who has been married 5 times (!), went to the home of Meryem
Özer (22), whom he divorced 6 months ago, on the pretext of
visiting their two children.  At Özer's house, Çetin attempted to
rape her but when she resisted he broke a bottle and cut Özer's
arm, face and throat, bashing her head with an iron club, as well.

Çetin then tried to steal the bracelets on Özer's arms and the
necklace around her neck before fleeing.  Neighbors who heard
the tumult called police and Özer was taken to Nazilli State
Hospital for treatment.  Because of her cuts, Özer was moved
to Aydın State Hospital on Wednesday for esthetic surgery,
which lasted 4 hours. 

Çetin was caught and jailed. 


Karacasu district is in extreme southeastern Aydın.
