Fly in the Yoğurt! No BS!

türkçe links to original Turkish article.

(Milliyet Newspaper, 5 April 2021)

No sympathy for the murder victim.

B.S., who lives in Istanbul, discovered a dead fly in the yoğurt
bought from a market and filed a lawsuit.  B.S. is demanding 41,783TL
from the yoğurt's producer and says that henceforth eating milk products
is out of the question!

B.S.'s lawyer Burçin Kahya Balaman's petition to the prosecutor reads
as follows: "my client noticed something in the yoğurt after bringing it
home from the market but, without opening it, went straight to a
notary to document the incident.  A document was produced confirming
that the foreign object in the yoğurt was a dead fly, 3 mm in length and
black in color.  This result is contrary to the reliability conditions
established for yoğurt." (!)

                                     Pickles anyone?

Also in Balaman's petition it is stated that "the fact that a dead fly was
found in a trusted brand's yoğurt has made it impossible for the family
to consume milk products henceforth.  It goes without saying that the
suspects have disregarded the importance of the organic certificate and
toyed with the public's health."

B.S. has requested that an investigation be opened against six company
officials for "trading in damaged or altered food products." and wants
41,783 TL (about $5,000) in psychological distress compensation.

On the subject of avoiding milk products henceforth...
