"I'm always ready to settle things peacefully.
My way."

Ahmet Salih Belginer (62), the chief of 50. Yıl village in Yalova's
Armutlu district, agreed to meet with his cousins to solve a nettlesome
inheritance matter at the office of a lawyer in Kartal, Istanbul.

Yesterday at 1530 all the cousins met but tempers began to flare.  So
Belginer pulled out a gun and shot dead relatives Haluk Onat (58), Kebire
Esra Ay (54) and Ayşe Ece Ay (26).  Seriously injured by Belginer's
gunfire were Arzu Onat (56) and Ahmet Nuri Onat (73), who later died
at the hospital.

Lawyer Mehmet Şanverdi escaped without injury.  Belginer fled back
to Yalova but was taken into custody there by the Gendarmerie and
returned to police in Istanbul.
