When does he have time for school?
Fatih Kömürcü (23) was taken into custody for climbing the Cheops
Pyramid in Egypt. He was released on condition that he erase the
photographs and videos he took from the top of the pyramid.
Kömürcü is an archeology student at Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar
University in Istanbul. He was impressed by German and Russian
tourists who climbed the pyramid and couldn't resist trying it, too.
After making it to the pyramid's summit, though, Kömürcü was
arrested. At first, Kömürcü refused to erase his pictures but after
a night in jail he relented.
Using a program he downloaded from the internet, Kömürcü
was able to retrieve some photos but not the video. His previous
exploits include walking from Georgia to the Bulgarian border
in 51 days, touring Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia by bicycle, and
rowing a canoe across the Sea of Marmara in 3 days. Kömürcü
is planning to walk from the south to the north of Lake Baykal,
Russia, frozen in winter, in March in 17 days.
The Cheops (Khufu) Pyramid is at Giza, Egypt.

While waiting for Spiderman 7 to start production...
Eren Özgen Sevinç (28) graduated from the geology engineering
faculty of Mersin University but after a long jobless spell he has
taken to selling baloons dressed in a Spiderman costume.
Each day Sevinç blows up the baloons at home and then walks
around the seaside park in Mersin as Spiderman. He explained
that "there are a lot of people like me in Turkey. I'm doing a job
that's pretty far removed from geology engineering. I know it, but
at least I make some kids happy and that's worth everything."
