Ruthless Master West, on the right.
Blogger Selen Pınar Işık, known on social media as Pucca, has been
investigated for writing "Lacky of the West" in a tweet, when in fact
she was referring to her son, whose name is Batı (west) (!). Police
raided Işık's father's home, searched throughout and seized cellphones
in the house.
The police raid on Işık's father's home in Izmir was aimed at finding
evidence related to a "terrorist organization". Last night on twitter
Işık explained that "they came to my father's house today, looking
for me and evidence about a terror organization. 'Batı' is my son's
name! My son!" Let's see what else happens during OHAL (state
of emergency)."
In her tweet, Işık wrote "I am West's lackey. Of course I am. What
else would I be. I do quite a bit of servitude. I'm my dear West's
lackey, his pooch." Işık is scheduled to give a statement to the
Istanbul Public Prosecutor on Monday, 2 July.
Next child's name will be 'No Direction', to play it safe.

Seeing is believing...
One of Van's most important values is its world-famous white cats,
with one blue eye and one yellow eye. So at the Yüzüncü Yıl University
campus where they are under protection, the cats now have three new
pools (!) to swim in at the Van Cat Research & Implementation Center.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya explained that the cats love to swim and that
"we knew this but didn't have the resources for a pool but
a philanthropic businessman has made it possible for us to teach kittens
how to swim in three pools. This is a first in Turkey and probably in
the world."
Van Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, who presided over the opening of
the pools, noted that he had been at many openings in his time but
this was definitely the first opening of pools for cats that he had
participated in. The Governor and other protocol guests later toured
the pools and had pictures taken with the cats.

Hearing about the Van cats' fancy pool, this one got jealous
and dove in.
When passers-by heard the sound of a cat coming from a well in
the garden of the Religious Faculty of Trabzon's Black Sea
Technical University they requested help from AFAD (search &
rescue.)
Shortly afterwards, a 5-person AFAD team was on the scene
and they retrieved the kitten from the well, alive and well (!).

Good idea - like having a stunt-double.
In Adana, Abidin Bakır (55) stole a light truck exactly like his
own in order to have spare parts available (!). Bakır had an
accident and had trouble finding spare parts to get his vehicle
repaired so he eyed the same light truck owned by one Ali A
and stole it.
When Ali A. woke up in the morning and saw his vehicle was
missing he called police, who checked videos from around Ali A.'s
house and nabbed Bakır.

One has trouble imagining worse news. SAD!
In an accident in Izmir's Torbalı that involved 3 vehicles, a load
of beer bottles crashed onto the road from a TIR (tractor-trailer).
No one was killed or injured in the accident and traffic returned
to normal after the beer mess was cleaned up.
The accident occurred at the Torbalı intersection of the Izmir-
Aydın highway when the TIR hit a car and a truck. A team
from the Highways Department collected the broken beer bottles.

Straight out of central casting.
Police responded to an alarm emanating from a building on
Şinasi Efendi Avenue in Adana's Seyhan district and as they
checked a bar in the building they found an individual drinking
liquor (!). Umur Ü. explained to police as he was being bundled
into a police car that he was a customer in the bar but had been
forgotten by the bar owner, who locked the establishment while
Umur Ü. was still inside.
Police checked on Umur Ü. and discovered that he had a police
record for assault. The bar owner was advised of the situation
and Umur Ü. was taken to Yarbaşı Şehit Erdoğan Çıtak police
station for processing.
If you have to be stuck somewhere, a bar's not a bad
venue.

See ya' later alligator...much later.
In Adana on 21 June, Hüseyin Yavuz called private security
guard Ahmet Bayçoral and identified himself as "Police
Commissar Kemal", telling Bayçoral that "a jeweler has been
robbed and the suspects left a fake ID card in your name at
the scene of the crime. We know you're innocent but just
in case we have to compare any gold and jewelry in your
house with that of the jeweler." (!)
In response, Bayçoral told the caller that he had 40,000 TL
(about $8,000) in the bank and would gladly be of help if
he could. Bayçoral, though, knew that the caller was a
hoodwinker so he got in touch with the police, who gave
Bayçoral fake money to give to Yavuz. At the meeting spot
police in various disguises, like a simit seller and market
helper, pounced on Yavuz as he took the 'money' from
Bayçoral.
At the police station, Yavuz claimed that he just happened
to be at the park and was curious about the package in question.
It turned out that in the past month Yavuz had bilked 4 people
out of 280,000 TL (!). His previous victims ID'd Yavuz and
he was jailed.
Adana has been disproportionately good to TNT over
the years.
