Think of it as sort of like POW training.
Tolga Küçükçakır, who got married to Dilan Küçükçakır in Bursa's İznik
district, was first dressed in shalwar, a bell was placed around his neck,
make-up was applied to his face, and 'Dilan' was written on his forehead
in the traditional party organized by his friends before the wedding.
On the morning of their wedding day, Dilan hanım and Tolga bey
attended the entertainment organized for them by their friends
on Mustafa Kemal Paşa District's Atatürk Street. The groom, who was
given an empty tube and told to cook an egg, ate the egg cooked with
lots of oil, salt and spices. Then, the groom sat in the basin that his
friends placed in the middle of the street and washed with a brush and
foamy
water.
Even POW's get a bath once in a while.
Bride Dilan hanım watched the events in the bridal car and recorded
those moments with her mobile phone. At the finale of the entertainment,
the groom was taken to the terrace of his house; accompanied by the sounds
of drums, horns and horns, he was obliged to declare his love
for Dilan hanım.
The tradition, which has been observed in the district for many years,
provided some amusing moments. Tolga bey, who was subjected to
his friends' almost torturous antics, said, "I don't need to describe what
happened; it's all obvious from my reaction. I think this happens to every
man in the İznik region."
"What?"
Dilan hanım, who said she enjoyed watching the events from the wedding
car, stated, "Apparently, we are obliged to experience these moments
according to our traditions. It was very enjoyable to watch." (!)
