In Kayseri, İlhan Şahan went to the home of his estranged wife
Yasemin Şahan, intent on killing her. However (!), İlhan bey
first encountered Melek Gül (36), the wife of the apartment
building's custodian, mistook her for Yasemin hanım, and
stabbed her to death.
Şahan "explained" to the Gendarmerie that "I remember her
saying 'don't do it brother!' during the incident. I don't recall
how many times I stabbed her. I shut down the electrical
circuit breakers to try to prevent the camera from recording me
and to gain time. Then I went to the Gendarmerie and told
them I'd injured someone. I'm very sorry it all turned out this
way." (!)
