The only way to get here from there.

The danger has increased on the Cameroonian-flagged dry cargo ship
"NINOVA," which ran aground off the coast of Karasu district in Sakarya.
The ship, which drifted ashore due to adverse weather conditions, was
observed to be taking on water and listing slightly to one side. The
8-person crew was rescued after a long effort and brought ashore.

The 80-meter-long, Cameroonian-flagged dry cargo ship "NINOVA"
drifted and ran aground due to adverse weather conditions in the Black
Sea. Following the report, teams from the General Directorate of Coastal
Safety, the Coast Guard Command, AFAD (Disaster and Emergency
Management Authority), as well as gendarmerie, police, and fire brigades
were dispatched to the area.

A rescue operation was launched to save the eight-person crew on board,
one Turkish and seven Azerbaijani nationals. Due to adverse weather
conditions, the rescue operation, which could not be carried out by sea
or air, was conducted using "rope-launching rockets." (!( Personnel
boarded a basket attached to a rope and were brought to shore one by
one.

The evacuation operation was completed when the last crew member,
holding a Turkish flag, was brought ashore. The crew was greeted with
applause by those waiting on the beach.  The crew, whose health was
reported to be good, was taken to an ambulance.  Meanwhile, the ship,
which had begun to take on water, was observed to be slightly tilted to
one side.
