               When social media is the matchmaker...

In Adana, realtor Çağlar Gökgül (36) and Dilek Gökgül (31)

met on social media and wed six months ago, holding a formal

wedding for friends and relatives 3 weeks ago.  On 24 June, 

the couple argued about Çağlar bey's drinking problem and he

beat her in their Sarıçam flat before throwing Dilek hanım off

the sixth floor balcony (!). 

Fortunately, Dilek hanım first landed on an awning that broke

her fall but, nevertheless, she is paralyzed from the waist down.

Dilek hanım related her travail, as follows: 

"I asked him why he drinks and although he promised me he

wouldn't, he continued to.  On the night of the incident I was

sitting at a table and he in a chair. He insisted that he would

drink every day and began beating me. I fled to another room

but he caught me, dragged me to the balcony  and threw me off.

I grabbed onto the balcony guardrail and hung there for a few

moments but ultimately I fell."  

"I don't remember what happened next. He claims I tried to 

commit suicide (!).  Since he's a realtor he has a wide circle

of friends in Adana, whereas I'm from Burdur and have no one

here to support me.  His family is threatening me, rather than

helping me. Now I'm bedridden here in Adana.  Many, many

women in this country have been thrown from balconies and

accused of suicide - I didn't die and will press on with the 

legal battle."

Dilek hanım's "suicide" failed, but she's paralyzed.

                            History gets tacky in Ayanizi.

In Ayanizi village in the ancient Phrygia region of 

Afyonkarahisar province, a café called "Taş Bahçe" (Stone 

Garden), set amid the historically protected rock grave rooms, 

complete with carpets, couches, pictures hung on the walls, 

and electric cables for lights, is serving customers.

In winter months, the rock grave rooms are closed with

transparent doors and heat is provided by a wood and coal-

burning stove.  And all of this in contravention of a 

prohibition imposed by the Protected Region Council. (!)

Historical reenactments by "Phrygians" are part of the fun.

The 3,000-year-old  rock grave rooms have been turned

into a tacky restaurant by people who should know better, 

said Akdeniz University archeology Prof. Dr. Nevzat Çelik. 

His sentiments were echoed by his colleague Prof. Dr. Havva

İşkan, who bemoaned the rock graves' transformation into

an "amusement park". (!) 

Cultural Sites and Museums General Director Biron İnceciköz 

stated that he is aware of the problem and that the requisite 

remedial actions are being taken. 

Get there before they shut it down!

The town figured tourism shouldn't suffer - there's no

such thing as bad publicity!

In Adana'a Seyhan district, police had their suspicions about

a parked minibus and when they looked in the window they

saw a gun on the front seat.  Checking their records, police

found that the minibus belonged to Murat B. (31), who had

recently been sent to jail for drug dealing. 

Polie also determined that Murat's brother Yaser B. (27) 

sometimes used the minibus.  Searching the vehicle, they 

came upon 31,625 pills (!) that require a prescription for use.

Yaser B. was tracked down and taken into custody.  In his

statement to police, Yaser "explained" that "I have no connection

with the pills in the vehicle. They don't belong to me." 

"I keep my eyes on the road. Never look in the back."

"Beat & Release": Better Late Than Never, But Better Late For Real - Trolls Play Disappointed Test Candidates on Social Media

               Forgot to get batteries for alarm clock.

The effort to make a splash on social media and garner "likes"

has affected the test-taking arena, such that fake test 

candidates are making videos of  themselves being turned away

for reaching the test site too late. (!)

These social media trolls exploit the annual scenes at test-taking

sites, where real candidates are excluded for being a minute late.

Görkem Varlık has played the role of a disappointed candidate

in recent years on his social media postings but he claims that 

his noble intention is to send a message to the unyielding 

test-givers:

"This amount of stress is unnecessary.  I'm not looking for 'likes'

and attention (!) because I only target the university tests, not

all the others.  By my actions, I've made people aware that not

all those  turned away are real heartbroken candidates and that

most of them are in fact trolls looking for attention.  The real

test-takers hope to earn money with their degrees in the future,

whereas the fake candidates are just looking to make a quick

buck on social media."

          Usually it's a BBQ grill, this time a samovar...

In Soma district of Manisa province the day before yesterday

at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, a fire broke out in a wooded

area.  Soma Forest Service firefighters responded quickly to 

prevent the fire from spreading. 

It turned out that a family picnicking in the area had lit a 

samovar to make tea and sparks jumped from the samovar

to the dry grass.  The culprit was identified as Neriman A.,who

was arrested and sentenced to house arrest (!) by the court.

                         A wet Irishman in Samsun

The Turkish State Opera and Ballet General Directorate (DOB)

has staged the Hollywood classic musical "Singin' in the Rain" 

in Turkey for the first time.  The 3-hour play, adapted from the 

movie, included Gene Kelly's famous dance scene, in which he

revolved around a lamp post amid falling rain.  

Bilal Doğan played Kelly's role in the production staged in 

Samsun, where the technical team built a second stage atop 

the main one, complete with drainage for the rain scene.  

The choreography for the play, which was directed and translated

into Turkish by Aclan Büyüktürkoğlu, was created by Yunus 

Emre Örgüt, with Kıvanç Tepe handling adaptation of the musical

scores.  Costumes were designed by Gülnur Çağlayan Tuluk., 

lighting arranged by Oğuz Murat Yılmaz and video design by

Murat Turgut.  In addition to Bilal Doğan, the lead actors 

included Leyla Ceren Koç, Umut Yavuz and Ulaş Kocatürk.

"Beat & Release": Is Nothing Sacred! Barbeque Pit Found in Ancient Church on Forbidden Promontory, in Alanya

Sometimes you just want a private BBQ spot for yourself.

The historic structures on Cilvarda Point, a rocky bit of land 

that juts out 400 meters into the Mediterranean Sea  from the 

peninsula at Alanya in Antalya province, create lovely 

silhouettes that enhance the town's beauty.   

Cilvarda Point, which is closed to visitors, is called "darphane" 

(mint) by the populace and there is a church and a monastery 

made with hewn stones that date back to the 11th century A.D 

on the promontory. 

However (!),  some people have jumped the fence around the

Alanya Fortress to make the arduous trek through the Cilvarda

Point's rugged terrain and left debris behind them, including

the remnants of a "mangal" (barbeque pit) made inside the 

church (!).

In Esenyurt, Istanbul, on 28 April 2024, Halime Çevik (29) 

came home from shopping to find her husband Eyüp Çevik

(37) lying on the floor.  The young woman called the police

and medics arriving at the house  pronounced her husband

dead. 

However (!), police characterized the death as "suspicious"

and sent Eyüp Çevik's body to the police forensic lab. 

Meahwhile, Halime hanım went with her husband's brother

Hüseyin Çevik and her two children to Mardin.  

But Hüseyin bey had a crisis of conscience and confessed to

killing his brother with rat poison (!) owing to his affair with

Halime hanım.  He said he bought the rat poison and gave

it to Halime hanım to put in Eyüp bey's food.  Halime hanım,

though, denied the accusation, but both she and Hüseyin bey

were jailed. 

A decision was handed down in the court at Bakırköy, Istanbul,

such that Halime hanım was given a "life sentence", reduced 

from a "severe life sentence" - "in consideration of the effect

on her social life" (!).  Hüseyin bey was sentenced to 16 years

and 8 months for "assisting a murder".  

Lives to bite another day...

"Beat & Release": Punching Incident on Train Gets Complicated as Teenager Shoots at "Blue Shirt" Participant Two Weeks Later, in Istanbul

"Blue-shirt" Aktan being arrested at Marmaray Maltepe 

station on 30 May.

In Maltepe, Istanbul, on 16 June at about 9 o'clock at night,

Y.B.D. (17) fired two shots at Cihan D. who was walking 

along the street.  Cihan D. was uninjured and police quickly

arrested Y.B.D., who had an unlicensed revolver and ten

9 mm bullets on him. 

In his statement to police, Y.B:D. "explained" that he lives in

Bahçelievler district (far from Maltepe) and has links to the 

notorious Dalton Gang and that one Doğancan had sent him to 

a café to obtain the gun from someone he did not know personally.  

Police found messages from known Dalton Gang members on 

Y.B.D.'s phone. 

Dur, far left, punched Eroğlu, white shirt.with kids.

Then Aktan, blue shirt, punched Eroğlu, too. Got it?

It turned out that the attack was intended against İbrahim

Aktan, who was taken into custody 15 days ago along with

Ekrem Dur for punching Deniz Eroğlu  (46), who was on the 

Marmaray train at the Maltepe station with his two children.

The footage of the incident spread widely on social media

and Aktan was identified by his "blue shirt" (!). 

Y.B.D. said that he shot Cihan D. because he resembled

Aktan, based on the footage he'd seen on social media. 

Have gun, will travel.

"Beat & Release": Killer of Fabled "Nasreddin Hoca" Confesses on Live TV Program

                                 Reality TV at its worst.

Mehmet Tural (2), who dressed like Nasreddin Hoca and

roamed around Konya's Akşehir district for years, had not

been heard from for a while.   His mother's cry for help 

was answered on a TV program (!). 

The would-be Nasreddin Hoca met Gülşen Dal on social

media and sent her a marriage proposal, along with 200,000

TL and 160,000 TL-worth of gold.  Subsequently, Tural

appealed to Kenan Yılmaz, who passed himself off as an

intelligence agent, to try to get his money back.  

Yılmaz could not find Gülşen hanım, though, and this

prompted an argument between him and Tural.  Later,

on a live TV program Yılmaz "explained" that " I said to

him 'Uncle Mehmet, I couldn't find the woman nor her 

home. Other than the photograph of her you sent me, I

know nothing about her."

Continuing on the live TV program, Yılmaz said that

"He thought I'd brought the woman with me, but he got

angry when he saw she hadn't come.  He pulled a gun

on me and marched me to a desolate place.  I tried to 

get the gun from him and it fired, hitting him either in the

head or the shoulder.  I didn't fire the gun.  It was a high

place, with a stream passing by."

After his live TV confession, police took Yılmaz into

custody and a search of the scene of the incident yielded

a human skull and bones.(!)

"Beat & Release": Angel of Death Visits Balcony in Batman, Balloon in Aksaray

      Batman was on a coffee break and did not respond. 

While ceramic tiles were being placed on a first-floor balcony

that had been added to the Yel family's 3-story house in 

Atbağı village of Batman province's Beşiri district, the 

balcony collapsed on top of nine people having a meal below

it (!).  

Rescuers responding to the collapse found the dead bodies

of Fırat Tarhan (27), Mücahit Top (18) and Faris Yel (12). 

İ.H.Y. (24), V.K.Y. (15), Raman Yel (19), A.V.Y. (12) and 

A.Y. (50) were taken to hospitals for treatment of their

injuries, along with a Syrian named Halis.  

Raman Yel, however, succumbed to his injuries and died at

the hospital. The conditions of two others are said to be critical.

                                     No-air balloon. 

Yesterday morning a sightseeing balloon went airborne at about

5 o'clock in the Ihlara Valley area of Aksaray Güzelyurt in 

Cappadocia but the balloon crash-landed two hours later 

because of a sudden change in the wind.  

Pilot Hüseyin Türk's foot got caught in a rope and he was 

dragged underneath the balloon's basket and died.  19

Indonesian tourists riding in the basket were slightly injured

and returned to Nevşehir, where they are staying in a hotel.

At about the same time, another balloon carrying Indian 

tourists made a hard landing because of the wind and 12

tourists were slightly injured. 

I'd turn back if I were you...

In the air attack launched by Iran against Israel, one missile 

hit the building where former Fenerbahçe Beko basketball

coach Dimitris Itoudis lives.  

Iran's counterattack included about 150 missiles targetting

Tel Aviv and some of them eluded the Israel "Iron Dome"

missile defense system.  One hit the apartment building of

Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball coach Itoudis, although his own

flat did not sustain damage.

In any case, Itoudis and his family were vacationing in 

Greece during the Iranian attack. 

Good time to be out of town.

       If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it. 

A woman named Emzie, who came to Turkey for vacation, was 

shocked when she saw the price of a hamburger on the menu of

a McDonald's at Antalya Airport.  Emzie shared her 

amazement on TikTok, and Katil-Ann Gupwell wrote about

it too in the English newspaper "The Mirror". 

Emzie chose a "menu" meal (Big Mac, fries and Coke) but

couldn't believe that she owed 20 Euros for it (about 915 TL). 

In her related TikTok post, which quickly drew hundreds of 

views, Emzie noted that in total she had to pay 85 Euros (!) 

for McDonald's meals for herself and her two children. 

The article in The Mirror focused on the ever-rising inflation

in Turkey, affecting both tourists and locals, especially in the

food and services sector.  

Come on a full stomach.

South Korean social media phenom Hyojeong Park, a.k.a.

"Mhyochi", was posting live from Kadıköy, Istanbul,  when a

71-year-old Turk physically and verbally harassed her. The

elderly deviant was apprehended in Pendik, Istanbul.

As Mhyochi was posting live in Kadıköy, Y.Z.A.approached

her in an uncomfortable manner and asked "shall we sleep 

together?" (!)    In response, Mhyochi ran away.

In 2022 in Mumbai (Bombay), India, Mhyochi was similarly

harassed while posting live and police there arrested the two

offending deviants.

The incident occurred on the evening of 5 May, the eve of 

Kurban Bayram (Feast of Sacrifice) , in the Gürpınar 

neighborhood of Beylikdüzü district, Istanbul.  A family living

in a 6-story apartment building was watching an action movie 

that included a fire scene on a big-screen TV.

However (!), a (nosey) neighbor caught a glimpse of  the "fire",

thought it was real and alerted the fire department and police,

who quickly arrived at the scene.  Realizing that the "fire" 

was just on TV, the (disappointed) firefighters left.

In Batman, narcotics police ordered three suspects to stop  but

they fled instead.  Two of them were quickly apprehended and

1.380 kilograms of methamphetamine was found in a bag they

tossed along the road. 

The third suspect was pursued with drones, which spotted him

hiding in some underbrush.  He too was arrested.  Two of the

suspects had brought the drugs to Batman and were making a

drug deal with other suspect.  Two of the suspects were jailed

and the other was released on judicial supervision.

                            Great minds think alike.

Famous Youtuber "Gizem Avcisı" (Secrets Hunter) put out

an historic comprehensive video about Hatay and it quickly

got everyone's attention with its very mysterious information.

Hatay (ancient Antakya) is no ordinary city.  It's the secret

gateway between sky and earth, and past and present.  Atatürk,

who gave Hatay its name, did not say "Hatay is very personal

for me" for no reason.  "Ay-Hattı" (Moon-Line)  - the backwards

reading of "Hatay", means that there may be an incredible link

between the Moon and Hatay. What were the reasons for the

interest of ancient civilizations and modern eyes in this soil?

Herewith, the details: 

It is claimed that a cosmic secret deep in the minds of many 

people living in Hatay and surrounding areas has been 

revealed.  For years, Atatürk's famous words "İstikbal 

Göklerde" (the future is in the skies) have usually been related

to aviation but perhaps the meaning is tied to a secret star-gate 

in Hatay where the Moon connects to Earth.

Hatay is the location of the star-gate Nikola Tesla referred to.

Nikola Tesla and Atatürk had a secret meeting about the moon

in 1928.  In his New York laboratory, where Tesla researched

the world's electromagnetic structure, he made some calculations

and solved the secrets of the numbers 3, 6 and 9 that indicated

that the country on Earth where the star-gate was located was 

Turkey. So Tesla had to talk with Atatürk about this. 

                                        Hmmmmm...

It was explained that the Moon, frequencies, ancient

civilizations and Turkey were the star-gates.  Tesla said that

the secret of numbers 3,6 and 9 was held in the Moon and that

the gate that opened up this secret was in Hatay.  The

coordinates were clear - Urfa, Mardin, Nevşehir, Istanbul and

the center in Hatay, which still had to be made part of Turkey.

 

Titus Cave was a star-gate, and the Naska Lines in Peru were

as well.   Tibet, too, had the same magnetic resonance.  On top

of that, the purple rocks inside the tunnel resembled the Moon's

craters and the "Third Eye" in peoples' minds.  The rising and

setting of the Moon were in sync with the 3,6 and 9 vibrations.

According to Tesla, these places were used by ancient 

civilizations to pass between time and space, and Hatay was

this gate's precise location.

occupation.  But for the first time Atatürk made a state 

matter a personal one, telling the French Ambassadorİ

"Antakya is my personal cause."  Subsequently, the Hatay

But why "Hatay"?   Some say the name change was more

cosmic than political. 

"Hatay" means "the Moon's line" and the name was given

to Antakya in 1936- another coincidence? Because the date

includes the numbers 3,6 and 9 that Tesla designated. 

According to him, these numbers were not to be thought of

in the mathematical sense, but, rather, in  regard to 

vibrations, frequencies, time and scientific codes, whose 

center was at Hatay. 

From the Maya calendar to the Sumarian tablets, and from 

Göbeklitepe to ancient Egypt, they all point in the same

direction, to the place where there would be a bridge between 

past and present that would unravel the Moon's energy. 

For this reason, Hatay may be  the star-gate aht every 

civilization has searched for.  This subject has been taken

up in many foreign films.  For example, in the 1989 Indiana

Jones movie the hero searched for Jesus's goblet in Hatay.
