These royals can't stay outta trouble - N.H.H. with magic
and the Sultan with World War I.

N.H.H.,the son of E.N.H., who was the grandson of Ottoman Sultan
Mehmed Resad, got in touch with Hakan C. (49) a plants products
salesman, through a friend, in regard to finding a solution for some
personal problems.

During their conversation in January of this year, Hakan C. was able
to mention some otherwise secret information about N.H.H.'s family,
which quite naturally surprised N.H.H., so they went to Hakan C.'s
home in Uskudar, Istanbul, where Hakan's wife Yasemin C. (35)
was waiting for them.

The married couple spread a sheet on the stone floor and put some
water in a pan atop the sheet.  Into the water they put some pictures,
papers written in Arabic, salt and 11 grams of safran.  At this point,
Hakan C. put his hand on the Kuran and began to pray, speaking of
God and the angels.  About 10-15 seconds later, Hakan C. said
"OK, they've come." and quickly added a 'muska' (written prayer),
a headless Buddha statue, broken razor blades and a doll made of
soap to the water in the pan. (!)

Hakan C. then told N.H.H. to take all of the items out of the water
and, pointing to the cloudy water, he said "a great curse has been put
on you and your family.  Now we are going to dispell the curse and
your family will be protected for years to come."  Hakan C. then
proceeded to mention some things about N.H.H.'s childless situation,
his older sister and her sons-in-law.

N.H.H. became convinced of Hakan C.'s powers and the great curse
so when Hakan C. told him to bathe in water with kilograms full of
Iranian safran, at a cost of 80-90,000 TL (about $15-20,000) per kilo
(!), N.H.H. agreed to send Hakan C. money to buy the safran.  In
a two week period between 31 January and 13 February, N.H.H.
sent 460,000 TL (about $75,000) to Yasemin C.'s bank account,
writing "sacrifice" and "safran" in the explanation box of the
transfers.

But where are the broken razor blades??!!

N.H.H. bathed in the safran water but then Hakan C. told him
that "we need to tour Italy and Bangkok and do the sheet-salt
exercise over again in those places."  This made N.H.H.
suspicious (!) so he did some research about Hakan C. and
demanded his money back.  When Hakan C. and Yasemin C. refused
to  return the money, N.H.H. filed a complaint with the public
prosecutor for fraud.

Hurriyet called Hakan C., who explained that "I don't know
anything about an investigation.  They haven't asked me for a
statement and nothing has come to my home in the mail.  I know
N.H.H. and he's a very good fellow.  It's true that he sent money to
my wife's account but the reason for him sending the money is a
private matter between him and me so I can't reveal it.  I wouldn't
defraud anyone or cause any harm to anyone."
