Poor Ümit hurt his hand punching. Geçmiş olsun!
In Zonguldak on 30 July 2022, Gamze Kavraz (34), a secretary at a
private company, was waiting for a friend when a person running
from a park attacked her with punches. The attack was caught on
security cameras and assailant Ümit (21 and who's name means "hope"!)
K. was arrested the same day. Gamze hanım's two front teeth were
broken and her face was left black and blue from Ümit's K. assault.
Ümit K. was found to have a police record of 20 previous crimes. He
explained to police that on the day of the incident, he was annoyed as
he looked at passers-by and as the result of this anger he attacked
Gamze hanım, whom he had never met before. (!) Ümit K. couldn't
remember how many times he punched Gamze hanım. In any case,
he was jailed for 4 months and then released on judicial supervision. (!)
However (!), the Zonguldak public prosecutor, after completing an
investigation, has filed a charge against Ümik K. for "intentional
wounding" and has asked the court for a jail sentence of from two to
six years.
