                          No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.

At 6 o'clock in the morning yesterday, a TIR (tractor trailer) driven by
Mustafa Ceylan (52), overturned on a highway in Aksaray.

Mehmet Bingöl (53), who was traveling with his family in his car to
Manisa for his brother-in-law's wedding, stopped to help (!) after
witnessing the accident.

At that moment, a car driven by Gökhan Tokdemir (38), who was taking
his relatives to Konya for Hajj, crashed into Bingöl's vehicle. In the
accident, truck driver Ceylan, Tokdemir and his passengers Abdullah
Tokdemir (65), his wife Perihan Tokdemir (65),  Gökhan Tokdemir (32),
Elif Tokdemir (53),  and Halil İbrahim Tokdemir were injured.

Following a report from bystanders, police and medical teams were
dispatched to the scene. Six injured people were taken to the hospital.
Despite all medical efforts, Abdullah Tokdemir, a father of five,
succumbed to his injuries.

Mehmet Bingöl, who escaped the accident unharmed, said, "I saw
the accident, I slammed on the brakes and stopped. I turned on my
hazard lights, but the vehicle behind me hit us at high speed and threw
us here."

Fickle Finger of Fate strikes smack dab in the middle of nowhere.
