Don't worry, it's just a hobby.
High school student Y.Ç. (17) lives in the Keçiören neighborhood of
Ankara. On the first day of the recent Ramazan holiday, Y.Ç. noticed
that her tights, which she had hung from her first-floor balcony to dry,
were missing. She looked at the buildings' security camera footage
and was shocked to see that a stranger had put two chairs on top of one
another in order to climb up and steal, and then smell, her tights. (!)
Police were informed and they took N.T. into custody. N.T., who is
married, explained to police that "up to today I've stolen 60 pieces of
women's underwear and I considered the tights to be underwear. I have
a weakness and I think it's an illness. Three times I took Y.Ç.'s tights
from her balcony. No one complained before." (!)
N.T. was processed at the police station and released under jucidial
supervision. However, Y.Ç.'s family lawyer, Mücahit İsmail Ağalday,
declared that "the suspect's home must be searched and the other
underwear found so the victims can press charges. We object to his
release and we have renewed our demand that he be jailed."
Potential victims await their inevitable fate.
