Weightwatchers take note.
Schizophrenic H.E. (39) went to the Lunapark Family Health Center in
Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır province for an examination, during
which Dr. Aziz Tanelçi suggested that H.E. "should lose some weight"
to alleviate her chronic discomfort.
Taking exception to the doctor's advice, H.E. attacked him with a knife,
wounding Tanelçi in the arm and shoulder. Additionally, she stabbed
the stretcher and chairs in the examination room to shreds. Other
hospital workers were able to restrain H.E. until the police came to take
her into custody.
H.E. explained her psychological problems and medicines to the police
before being transported to the Elazığ Mental Health and Illnesses
Hospital for 20 days of observation. Tançeli's condition was said to be
good.
