In Istanbul, H.C. runs a shoe store with his brother in the Aymakoop
Shoe City shoemaking center. On 15 October, at around 8 o'clock at
night, H.C. got in his vehicle and set out on his way.  However, about
200 meters into his drive, two motorcyclists came up alongside him
and one of them said to H.C. "you hit my foot, pull over and we'll go
to the hospital and the police station."

H.C. didn't notice anything wrong with the complaining motorcyclist
but he nevertheless said in reply "OK, follow me to the hospital."  Yet,
it wasn't long before H.C. realized this was a trap, as the motorcyclists
on his left side opened fire, breaking his vehicle's left window.  The
attackers cut off H.C., who tried to reverse course but was hit in the rear
by a minivan.

One of the motorcyclists then entered H.C.'s car, putting a gun to his
head and snatching a bag containing $45,000, 23,000 Euros and a check
for 1.5 million TL, before fleeing the scene.

Police reviewed video footage from the 20-kilometer route the attackers
escaped via and captured hardened criminals Ali Altan (23) and Syrian
Mahnmoud Alkadour (19).  The owner of the motorcycle, A.Ü., was
arrested in Esenyurt, Istanbul.  The motorcycle was seized along with
the helmets and shoes the motorcyclists wore. Altan and Alkadour were
jailed and A.Ü. was released after giving a statement.
