Wedding bell blues.
In Sultangazi, Istanbul, a couple hard up for wedding expenses money
tried to rob a jewelry store. However (!), local shopkeepers came to
the aid of the jeweler, "neutralized" the robbers and turned them over
to the police.
The incident occurred early in the morning in the Esentepe neighborhood
of Sultangazi. Enes E. (26) and his girlfriend Azerbaijani Öznur H. (22)
entered the store wearing masks and brandishing a revolver. Neighboring
shopkeepers heard the commotion and intervened to nab the robbers. In
their statement to police, the couple "explained" that they could think of
no other way to get money for their wedding (!).
Marriage in prison will be expense-free.
