"Will the real Ahmet Akın please stand up!"

After the candidate lists for the local elections in Balıkesir were
determined, an unexpected development has occurred.  Ahmet Akın,
the CHP candidate for mayor of Balıkesir, whose chances of election
are deemed good, has come face to face (!) with a devious plan to
sabotage him - another "Ahmet Akın" has appeared on the ballot as an
independent candidate. (!)

The intent seems to be to siphon votes away from the CHP candidate by
confusing voters.  CHP'er Ahmet Akın, criticizing the AKP government of
Balıkesir that has been in power for the past five years, asserted that
"Out of fear, they've resorted to this trick that not even Satan could devise.
If they had provided the desired services to the people of Balıkesir for the
past five years they wouldn't have to stoop to such intrigues."

At least they don't look too much alike.

Bayram Demir, 45-years-old and born in Giresun province's Yağlıdere
district, and Bayram Demir (!), 49-years-old and also born in Yağlıdere,
are both candidates for the 31 March election to become the
neighborhood chief of the Ulus section of Gebze in Kocali province.
They even drive the same kind of car!

The national election authority tries to prevent ballot confusion like
this by putting the namesake candidate's parents' names next to theirs
on the ballot.
