The happy couple and the busy counters.
In Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province, the marriage of
Hülya and Emrah Gökçe, members of the Jirki Tribe, was
attended by a large crowd and the festivities lasted for
2 days and 2 nights. It took 6 people to count all the gold
and cash bestowed on the couple by the guests. (!)
The attendees at the wedding who came from Şırnak, Mardin,
Hakkari, Van and Diyarbakır were entertained by Gazi Yıldırım as
they formed long lines to dance "halay", recorded from above
by drone cameras.
Groom Emrah bey reaped 3 million TL (about $72.000) in
cash, while bride Hülya hanım had 1.5 kilograms of gold
pinned on her wedding dress.
