Fancy that! They took quite a fancy to that fancy bench.
Two individuals stole a bench (!) worth 30,000 TL (about $2,000) from
in front of the Les Benjamins store in the Teşvikiye neighborhood of
Şişli district, Istanbul. Workers from the store on Akkavak Street had
put the bench, which is usually kept inside the store, out in front on the
sidewalk last Friday.
Two fellows came along and picked up the bench like it was a stretcher,
loading it into a truck parked on the corner and speeding away. When
the store workers noticed the bench was gone they looked at security
camera footage. Police were informed and identified the bench robbers
as B.K. and T.B., with the former being arrested in Gaziosmanpaşa and
the latter in Eyüpsultan neighborhoods.
Fancy bench is the perfect addition.
Both B.K. and T.B. have long police records for robbery and similar
crimes. They said that they sold the bench to a junk dealer but the
bench has not been found. After processing at the police station, both
were released under judicial supervision. (!)
Life imitates art. In this case, a fancy armoire.
