Ayla hanım's heels turned Mete bey into one.
In Beşiktaş, Istanbul, for 29 years (!) Mete Ö. has been listening to the
sound of his upstairs neighbor Ayla Ç.'s high-heels as she walked
around her apartment. Despite Mete bey's many complaints and
warnings, Ayla hanım continued to wear her high-heels at home,
driving Mete bey to come up with a vengeful plan last April.
Mete bey made a photo-montage of Ayla hanım's pictures that he
found on social media mixed with photos of naked women. He
then pasted Ayla hanım's telephone number and address on the photo-
montage and left copies in building entrances, parks and gardens. (!)
When Ayla hanım encountered a copy of the photo-montage she
tracked them back to the copy-center where Mete bey had had them
printed, so she filed a police complaint against him. In his statement
to police, Mete bey expressed regret for his actions, explaining that
"I'm a serious cancer patient. I regret what I did but years of
frustration drove me to it."
Nevertheless, Mete bey now faces a 9-year jail term for "violating
a person's right to privacy and acquiring and distributing personal
information illegally.
After Mete bey's last-ditch recommendation fell on deaf heels,
he lost it.
