Guess which one's the motorcyclist.
A motorcyclist had an accident at the İSTOÇ turn-off on the TEM
highway in Bağcılar, Istanbul, early in the morning on 3 July. Passing
motorcyclist Hasan Saykal (37), who works as an AR-GE (research &
development) technician at a private company, noticed the accident
and stopped to help out.
At this point, Serdar Çekiş (38), who works at a toy shop, drove upon
the scene and took issue with Saykal's stopping, scolding him thusly:
"what are you doing stopping there to watch?! You're holding up
traffic, which is bad enough as it is!!" Çekiş added a 'hand gesture'
to his remarks and then left.
When otherwise normal, friendly Turks get behind the wheel
(or the handlebars)...
However (!), Saykal was infuriated by Çekiş's words and 'gesture' so
he caught up to Çekiş about 1.5 kilometers further on. This prompted
Çekiş to back his car into Saykal's motorcycle, knocking Saykal to
the ground. Saykal then pulled out an unlicensed gun and fired 12
shots into Çekiş's car. Four of the bullets hit Çekiş, the father of two,
killing him. Police took Saykal into custody.
Saykal's helmet-cam captured Çekiş in the act...
