A dog day afternoon at Schwarz's villa.
Aylin Yıldız Schwarz (63) returned to Turkey after retiring from her
job as an anesthesiologist in Germany and 19 years ago she bought a
'yalı' (waterfront home) in Bodrum. Schwarz dedicated herself to
animals, taking in old, crippled and puppy dogs she rescued from the
streets.
However, her neighbors objected to her canine guests so Schwarz
sold the 'yalı' and bought villa with a pool in the Ortaca area
Muğla province, where she now hosts 85 dogs (!), providing them
with furniture and TV. She even gives therapy to the crippled dogs in
the pool.
Doing the therapeutic dog paddle.
Schwarz explained that "I'm ready to look after them 24 hours a
day. They have no sense of malice or hatred. That's why I've
dedicated myself to them. When my days are through I'll leave
my house and home to the animals as inheritance."
