                     Where have we seen this before?...

According to the reporting of Milliyet's Songül Hatısaru, these days in

Diyarbakır there is a very different kind of tourism wave.  Private planes

keep coming one after the other carrying the third generation members

of the Rothschild and Rockefeller families, UN officials and ambassadors

to see the Mithras Temple underneath the Zerzevan Fortress. 

The fortress was built by the Roman Empire in what is today Diyarbakır's

Çınar district.  In the fourth year after archeological excavations and 

restoration work began in 2014, the last Mithras Temple in the world was

discovered, prompting the attention of the esoteric world to be directed here.

Mithras's mystery, which is accepted as the forefather of groups like the

Illuminati sect and the Knights Templar, has caught the attention of the 

entire world.  According to some people, secret organizations like the 

Illuminati were founded here. 

    R & R families have plenty of these. Coincidence?...

So the Zerzevan Fortress has become part of the tour routes of foreign

tourism companies.  According to the startling numbers put out by 

Dr. Aytaç Çoşkun, who is leading the excavation and restoration work 

in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Dicle 

University: "In 2019, 425,000 people visited the fortress and 69,000 of

them were foreigners.  If there hadn't been the pandemic, we would have

expected that number to have surpassed 1 million.  

The Zerzevan Fortress is home to a temple that spawned organizations as

secret as the Knights Templar and Illuminati.  The fortress has been put 

on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List and is a candidate to 

become Turkey's second Göbeklitepe.  The temple is normally closed to

visitors but special permission can be given to enter it.  I toured the 

fortress with Dr. Coşkun, who noted that "the site of the temple, which

was built 1,800 years ago, was not randomly selected.  All of the 

Mithraschi's were astronomers.  On the walls there is the symbol of

the 7 phases of Mithras, each one symbolizing the planets from Mercury

to Saturn."

      Diyarbakır is on the family's must-see list henceforth.

Mithras was a mysterious religion of Rome and the temple furthest to

the west was found in London.  The one in Diyarbakır is the one found

furthest to the east of Rome, but it may provide the answer to the Mithras

mystery.  Dr. Coşkun explained that "the temple was built by carving out

the main rock underneath the Zerzevan Fortress.  The symbols in the 

temple are those of Rome's mysterious religion and they have survived

until today."  

"This temple is the one that best explains the Mithras rituals and it is the 

best-preserved temple.  Inscriptions and symbols at the entrance can be 

clearly seen.  The Mithras religion was widespread particularly among the 

soldiers, merchants and aristocrats of the lands where Rome ruled. The

religious rites were secret and closed to outsiders.  Those who joined the

Mithras religion were required to suffer 12 tortures." 

 

The UN's World Heritage Sites Council ICOMOS's international 

scientific committee ICORP is making a documentary series and its

team first went to Katmandu in Nepal.  The second section of the 

series will focus on Zerzevan Fortress.  Filming at Zerzevan Fortress 

has also been completed for the History Channel's six-part documentary 

series.   In addition, National Geographic is getting ready to start filming

and Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman is expected to come to the

Mithras Temple in this regard.
