CEO of international conglomerate DBC (Drugs, Bombs
& Chaos) gets US ride to Turkey.
Turkey put out an alarm for the arrest of drug barron Mehmet Gezer for
"being a member of an armed international terror organization and for
harming the unity of the state and the nation's solidarity." The "red
alert" noted that Gezer has a record of 17 crimes.
It turned out that Gezer had been arrested in the USA so, through
INTERPOL, the USA agreed to send Gezer to Turkey and he was
brought to Istanbul, accompanied by US police. At Istanbul Airport
Gezer was turned over to Ankara anti-terror police and brought to
Ankara for interrogation.
Gezer is a suspect in the 11 May 2013 bombing in Reyhanlı, near the
border with Syria, that left 52 people dead. In his statement, bombing
planner Yusuf Nazik explained that "I received instructions for the
attack" from Gezer, who was then in Syria. The Reyhanlı bombing
was the second-worst bombing attack in Turkey, after the bombing at
the Ankara train station on 15 October 2015 that killed 103 people.
