"Dream & Release": Gold Crown Purloined, Briefly, by "Queen", in Istanbul

                     Coronation has been delayed a bit.

In Beyoğlu, Istanbul, on 5 March, Firdevs Ç. went to a jeweler with her

boyfriend and a gold crown worth 250,000 TL (about $7,000) caught her

eye.  The couple left the store without purchasing the crown, though.

However (!), the next day at about three-thirty in the afternoon, Firdevs 

hanım returned to the jewelry store by herself.  She took a bunch of 

photos of the crown before absconding with it - the jeweler pursued

Firdevs hanım, but in vain. 

Police later apprehended Firdevs hanım at her home, where the gold

crown was recovered and returned to the jeweler.  In her statement

Firdevs hanım "explained" that "My boyfriend and I liked it but he 

didn't have the money to buy it.  I decided to steal it so he wouldn't

feel bad."  After processing at the courthouse, Firdevs hanım was

released (!).
