One big happy family...plus one gigolo = chaos.
In Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, Hüseyin K., who works at a textile workshop, left
his job at 3 in the afternoon because of a headache. He went to his home on Piri
Reis Street in the Mehmet Akif neighborhood and entered the bedroom to rest.
However (!), Hüseyin K. sensed that there was someone in the closet and upon
opening it he came face to face with Aykut Demirtuğ (30).
Hüseyin K. began to beat Demirtuğ as his wife Zeynep K. entered the bedroom
and tried to calm her husband down. Hüseyin K. then locked Zeynep hanım
and Aykut bey in the bedroom and summoned his friend Engin C. Meanwhile,
Zeynep tried to cross over to the next balcony adjoining her 5th story flat but
was left hanging between the two. Aykut bey tried to hold on to her but failed,
as Zeynep fell to the ground many meters below. In a panic, Aykut bey jumped
to the ground, as well.
Police and rescue squads arrived at the scene to find that Zeynep hanım was
dead and that Aykut bey was seriously injured - he later died at a hospital.
Hüseyin K. and Engin C. were brought to a police station to give statements,
while the couple's two children were given over to relatives for safekeeping.
Eye-witness Ezgi C. explained that "they'd been married for 5, 6 years. The
woman had been abducted for marriage. Hüseyin K. called my brother Engin
C., saying that he heard breathing coming from the bedroom closet.
Evidently, the wife summoned the man at 10 in the morning. Hüseyin locked
the two of them in the bedroom. The man tried to hold on to Zeynep but she
fell. Shouting 'they'll kill me!' he jumped, too."

In Antalya, a gang of 19 people, 9 of them women, were taken into
custody for hoodwinking wanna-be gigolos out of more than 150,000
TL (about $25,000), although the amount may turn out to be more like
1 million TL.
Police in Antalya began the investigation based on complaints by 12
'victims' who claimed to have been defrauded by the gang that
promised to get these gigolo candidates rendezvous with wealthy
women. Police conducted raids in Antalya, Burdur, Kocaeli, Denizli,
Isparta and Van, rounding up 19 suspects, who were then brought
to Antalya for questioning.
Gang leaders Halis E. and a woman named B.A. were arrested at
a villa in Antalya, where a search revealed 15,000 TL and narcotics.
The gang lured gigolo candidates via a website, offering them 'gold'
and 'VIP'-level memberships in return for a fee. Although 12
'victims' complained, police believe that the real number of
hoodwinked gigolo candidates may exceed 100 - most of whom
were too embarrassed to file a complaint.
