Patrons in jail, Uzbeks in cuffs.
In her social media posts, Dilan Polat often included her Uzbek helpers
Şule (Şahlo Haydarova) and Nergis (Nargiza Haydarova). After Dilan
hanım and her husband Engin Polat were arrested, the two Uzbek women
continued to live in Polat's house. Rumors spread that Şule hanım, who
has her own large social media following, brought her relatives from
Uzbekistan to live in the house, as well.
Based on these rumors, Turkish immigration authorities went to the
house to determine the situation and found that Şule hanım's residency
permit had expired and that Nergis hanım's tourist visa was no longer
valid after she spent nine months in Turkey, rather than the authorized
6 months. Consequently, the two Uzbek women were brought to the
Selimpaşa Repatriation Center and sent back by plane to Uzbekistan
the day before yesterday.
On the plane ride back and at her home in Uzbekistan, Şule hanım
posted scenes on social media, saying in one of them that "everyone
should be relieved but don't forget anything about me. I'm very happy
because I'm going to my country with a clear conscience."
Reactions came fast and furious on social media: "you didn't go back
of your own accord, you were expelled!"; "you're still jabbering you
two-faced witch! You're not 'going', you were thrown out!"; and
"If you hadn't been expelled you never would have left! You're going
because my country threw you out!"
Dilan hanım makes do with 100 Euro notes for rollers.
