"Beat & Release": Order Dispute at Café Between Two Young Women Ends With One Dead, in Istanbul

In Istanbul's Bağcılar district last Friday night, Havin Taşçı (20)

returned to the café where she used to work and placed an order.

Waitress Şeymanur Sanbay (19) brought the order to Havin hanım,

who registered her displeasure, and an argument erupted between

the two young women. 

After the argument concluded (or did it?!), Şeymanur hanım went

home, grabbed a knife, and came back to the café with her sister

R.F.S. (16).  The argument resumed, and as it escalated, Şeymanur

hanım stabbed Havin hanım with the knife in her heart and stomach,

killing her. 

Şeymanur hanım and her sister were taken into custody by police

and two "sustalı" (switchblade) knives were seized from them.  

Şeymanur hanım was jailed, and R.F.S. was released.
