Never in real danger, thanks to his surname.

During the celebration of football team Adana Demirspor's elevation to
the Turkish "Super League" after a 26-year absence, fanatical fan Uğur
Türkölmez (whose surname means "immortal Turk") was holding a
firecracker that exploded in his hand.  After three operations, two of
Türkölmez's fingers were successfully reattached.

When the explosion occurred, Türkölmez (32) used his t-shirt to stem
the bleeding and flagged down a motorcyclist to take him to the hospital.
En route, though, "I was losing consciousness so in order for me not to
fall off the bike, the motorcyclist and I wore the same t-shirt." (!)

Türkölmez had these sage words for other fanatics like himself: "Don't
celebrate with firecrackers! They're very dangerous!"

Waited to celebrate like this since he was 6-years-old!
