Sang a couple of verses of "YMCA" en route to jail.

In Ankara's Etimesgut district, police got word of thefts that occurred
at a construction site and workers' shanty in the Yeşilova neighborhood
early Thursday morning.  Reviewing security video, police determined
that suspect Şahin Akan had donned a construction worker helmet and
orange vest to enter the site without raising suspicions.

Police also spotted the license plate of the car Akan was using that
morning.  Consulting the Plate Recognition System (PTS), police
were able to track down Akan on Saturday evening in Akyurt district,
arrested him and confiscated the helmet and vest as evidence.

Akan confessed to the thefts and a police check of his record reflected
arrests for many other thefts, as well as attempted murder (!) and a
(evidently still outstanding) 16-year, 4-month jail sentence.

Akan, far left, with other members of his "Köy Halkı" (Village
People) gang.
