Angered because he wasn't included in the boys' night out.
At around 3 o'clock in the morning yesterday in Bahçeköy, in Sarıyer
district of Istanbul, a person who heard gunshots and saw someone
lying on the ground called the police. Arriving at the scene police
found blood stains and many spent Kalashnikov rifle shells, along with
the motorcycle of the person shot. Witnesses told police that the group
that suffered the attack went to a local hospital.
At the hospital, Abdülmelik Ateş and Şakir Zana were pronounced dead
from gunshot wounds, while Burak E., who had been slightly wounded,
was undergoing treatment. Inside the car of one of the group members
police found an unlicensed Glock revolver with a full magazine.
In his statement to police, group member M.F.Y. explained that he, Ateş,
Zana and others had gone to Bahçeköy Forest Road for a good time. (!)
As they left the meeting point with Burak E., they heard gunshots and
turned back to find Zana and Ateş lying bloody and wounded on the
ground. Burak E. stated that someone in a white Audi shot at them.
When police checked camera footage of the Audi they noticed that it
had "ikiz plaka" (a license plate actually belonging to another car).
