Fame always has a price.
YouTuber phenom Merve Veziroğlu Yıldırım (32), an architect, and her
husband Yunus Yıldırım moved to Üsküdar, Istanbul, about a year ago but
they have been experiencing serious problems in their marriage. The
morning before last the couple got into an argument, prompting Yusus bey
to grab a kitchen knife and stab Merve hanım 32 times. (!)
Yunus bey then called the police to confess and was taken into custody.
Merve hanım's older sister Şerife Yavuz, stated that "my sister is in intensive
care and bleeding. I'm in shock!" Meanwhile, the couple's neighbor Ali
Aydin commented that "the guy told me they were having marital problems.
They're newly married and have been here for a year."
In his statement to the police, Yunus bey explained that "my wife and I have
been arguing a lot lately so she went to stay with my mother-in-law. Also,
lots of messages have been coming to my wife's social media account so
I was getting jealous." While Merve hanım remains in the hospital, Yunus
bey has been jailed.
