"Beat & Release" - 10-Cent-a-Day Spy Gave Killer His Prey

What a deal! For 10 cents a day, he even throws in a 

red marker.

In Konya, Ömer İğret (28) killed Büşra Gizem Güzelsoy, the fiancé he

had broken up with 11 days before, and her mother Gülya Barutçu (48),

before committing suicide.  It turns out that İğret had hired İsmail K.

to tail the mother and daughter for 100 TL (about 10 cents!) per day to

let him know where the women were. 

The incident occurred on the evening of 27 October  on Argunşah 

Street in the Yazır neighborhood of Selçuklu district when mother

and daughter arrived in front of their house in a car with plate

number 55 SE 617.  İğret shot them both dead and five hours later

killed himself with the same gun. 

Police investigated and determined that İğret had hired İsmail K.(21),

whom he met through friend and cafeteria owner Umut Sefa E. (27),

to keep track of Güzelsoy and Barutçu, whose pictures he showed 

İsmail K.  On the day of the murders, İsmail K. had informed İğret 

that the two women had arrived at their house.

Police took Umut Sefa E., İsmail K. and their friend Hulusi Ö. (21)

into custody.  The suspects explained to the police that İğret had told

them how much he loved Büşra hanım but that her mother was 

intervening. İğret talked about killing the two women but the suspects

claimed they wanted to help İğret resolve his problems, having no idea

the matter would come to this.  (!) 

After being charged with "providing aid and comfort to a murder", the

three were released on judicial supervision. (!)
