Greek Navy Shoots At, Seizes Turk on Jet-Ski in Bodrum

In Bodrum, Muğla province, Oğuzhan Gelmez (23), who works in the

water sports sector, rode his jet-ski from Gümbet Bay toward nearby 

Kara Ada (Kara Island).  However (!), a Greek warship fired at Gelmez 

and ordered him to stop. Having no ID on him, the Greek Navy 

arrested Gelmez and took him to İstanköy (Kos) Island.

               The Greeks have seen this movie before.

When Gelmez didn't return to Gümbet, his parents Turgay and Gülden 

Gelmez filed a missing persons report. Meanwhile, Gelmez was 

interrogated and roughed up by Greek authorities on Kos, who seized

his cellphone.  After two days on Kos, Gelmez was allowed to ride

his jet-ski back to Gümbet. (!)

            İstanköy (Kos) Island is the large one at left.
