HAYTAP (animal rights group) teams have rescued a dog and three cats
stranded for 20 days in earthquake-damaged buildings in Malatya and
Hatay by using construction cranes.
People who saw a dog at the window of a seventh-floor apartment in
the Terasevler Sitesi D Block apartment building in Hatay's Antakya city
took a video and posted it on social media. Since it had been 20 days
since the earthquake struck, the dog's condition was deemed to be poor
so a HAYTAP team used a crane to reach and save the dog.
In Malatya, two cats stuck in a damaged house in Emeksiz district
were similarly rescued by a HAYTAP team using a crane after becoming
aware of the cats' plight via social media. One of the cats was pregnant
and both had been stranded for 20 days. Also in Hatay, a cat named
"Yumak" (ball of wool, string) was also rescued by a HAYTAP team and
a crane.
