"Beat & Release": So Much for Police Protection - Woman Stabbed to Death in Their Presence, in Torbalı

                                           Ouch.

In Izmir's Torbalı district, a blood-curdling incident occurred on 5653

street in the 7th September neighborhood.   Mehmet Angi (35) and

Aslı Angi (30), the parents of three children, divorced 45 days ago.  

Subsequently, Aslı hanım wanted to see her children so she went to

Mehmet bey's house accompanied by two police officers.

However, despite the presence of the police, Mehmet bey stabbed 

his ex-wife to death (!).  The police then took Mehmet bey into 

custody.  An inquiry into the incident has been initiated, and the two

policemen have been put on administrative leave.
