A grasshopper invasion has struck Hatay province within the past
ten days. The creatures have infested the Atik, Fenk and Eşmişek
pastures on the slopes of the Amanos Mountains in Belen, Kırıkhan
and Hassa districts.
The Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Directorate has been
informed of the calamity and its teams are spraying insecticides in
the affected areas. Garden and orchard owners have been provided
with pesticides by the Directorate free of charge.
