                          Well, it's pretty certain now. 

Four cows grazing in a field in Aşağı Emirhalil village of Çorum's
Bayat district were killed by a wild animal.  The cows' Afghan
shepherd claimed that the killer was a lion (!). 

The local Gendarmerie and a team from the Environmental
Protection & National Parks directorate scoured photographs taken
near the village at the time and, during a search, the bones of a cow
were found in a marsh.

Village chief Hasan Durak observed that "we found four of our cows
torn to shreds.  Our shepherd saw the lion and took a picture with his
cellphone.  In fact, we know that the lion is a female because her
young were with her.  So that must mean that there's a male lion in
our area, too.  We think the lion killed our cows.  Our villagers are
scared to go out into their fields!"
